3 Apr 2007 - 3:44    Ashley :
4 Apr 2007 - 10:54    Laura Petersen : This story was a wonderful way to show how complex life in Afghanistan is- let this movie be a way to share this knowledge and not exploit it.
5 Apr 2007 - 6:30    Ellen Sweeney : I really dont give a crap about how much these boys were paid.....that is irrelevant to this issue...... The point is if Dreamworks decides to make a movie like Kite Runner that contains a scene within the movie that will cause problems due to cutural sensitivities about the issue contained within the scene, they should have fully disclosed the nature of the scene to these families (My guess is they didnt and they didnt INTENTIONALLY)..the family if they knew about the scene would not have let their child act in this movie for any amount of money...Homosexuality is an immoral sin in the eyes of Muslims and to depict a rape of one young boy by another and then the rape of a boy by an adult, the people that see this fill are going to want to ostracize and punish this little boy that plays Hassan in the movie because of what he acted out in the movie......some may even believe he really had sex with another boy and an adult They have a moral responsibility to help these kids and their families in any and all ways possible to avoid the horrible situation that will inevitably happen when this movie comes out.....
5 Apr 2007 - 22:10    Shayla G : Please find it in your hearts to help these young boys and their families, they do not deserve to be punished by their countrymen for participating in making Western entertainment.

18 Apr 2007 - 9:28    Samoon :
19 Apr 2007 - 0:34    Keith S. : The people from Dreamworks should actually read this novel and realize the repercussions of the release of this film could be devastating to these families and the least this production company could do would be to help them achieve a better life.
19 Apr 2007 - 22:37    Sarah Beth :
22 Apr 2007 - 21:31    Sheri Weisz : No film or any other form of art or entertainment is worth putting people's lives in danger. In light of the millions the film will earn, the filmmakers can certainly afford to help the Afghan families that may be harmed because of their participation in the film. The welfare of children should always come first - always.
22 Apr 2007 - 23:09    Katarina Ling :
23 Apr 2007 - 11:35    Sophie Stan : This is a wonderful novel that opens the eyes of many across the world. Please do not allow harm to the children- they must be protected!
24 Apr 2007 - 18:12    Wasfia Hussain :
24 Apr 2007 - 21:20    Mary Bassett :
26 Apr 2007 - 10:36    Preston Smith : As a writer and a journalist that has worked in third-world/war ravaged countries, I am appalled by what I have just read. The book had a powerful effect on me, but if this account is true, this demeans the story to the point that I will probably toss it in the garbage. If you cannot protect the child actors and their families in creating the machine of entertainment, then I see little difference between this and child exploitation.Hat's off to those signing this petition.

2 May 2007 - 4:37    angel : don't forget the children of afghanistan, again!
2 May 2007 - 13:20    jennifer : this is definitely shocking.. how can american stars be paid millions of dollars that they don't need while these children are left to defend for themselves? is there a legal reason or something or were these kids just being exploited..
3 May 2007 - 22:12    Asma : I am appaled. I cannot believe paramount is doing this. I know I will not watch this movie, unless i know the boys are safe
