In September of 2004, LucasArts began a major restructuring project, laying off somewhere between 31-50 employees and cancelled all internal projects save for one.

Knights of the Old Republic 3 was one of the canceled projects.

Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 have won critical acclaim, including Game of the Year Awards. Both games have a very active fan community, and strong support.

Despite the very short development cycle for Knights of the Old Republic 2, and its flaws, the game was still fairly well received. Storywise the game also featured a major cliffhanger, so the game/series does not feel complete without a third chapter.

We the undersigned, desire to see a third installment. We are also a small, yet active minority on the internet that could help create positive buzz, that can lead to significant sales.

We are confident that as a major publisher, LucasArts will realize that it is smart business sense to continue this sucessful franchise.
