Igrew up in the aldergrove area and i never went to the track when i had the oportunity. I missed out and i support the revival of this track for the events that are proposed.
I've alway's had a love for motor sport. In Canada it is not as supported as it is in the USA. In Amaerica, it seems that almost every county or town has an oval or track facility at a fairgrounds. I've been involved as a Medic in motor sports diuring my 20 year careeras an emergency responder, and would love to see this site re used as a motor sport venue.
My family and I were walking through the park some 15 years ago not knowing that there ever was a race track their. Was I ever delighted to see it as well as upset that like other great tracks around B.C. had fallen to closure for one reason or another.I presently belong to a couple of British car clubs as sports cars and racing are a passion. About 5 years back I aproached the parks board about useing the old track as a gathering and picnic site for our club, but unfortunately met with we could'n be responsable issues from the board. Well all I can say it was great to see all the cars their on July 1 and maybe there is hope for my club yet to use it for a day.Great work, I support you all the way.
I raced hit and pass inthe `79 `81 seasons. It was a truely exciting experience and I miss this track to this day. I understand that there is a c.d. of the operating years. please send me info on how to get this. My car`s racing name was Smoke Spagar, Hairy Canary, and Jonny Crash.
The Lower Mainland really needs an accessible family oriented motorsport facility like this. I could take my 4-year-old daughter to Langley Speedway for an enjoyable evening. I think the kids who take Shop in school, and all the men and women who work with their hands deserve so much more credit than they get in the media. Oval racing is safe, healthy even, no-nonsense, a great community builder. Don't force BC racers to cross the US border to get a race!
I fully support the restoration of the track. I have heard many wonderful memories about the place. I wished there were more places locally for family fun outings.
I spent my teenage years at this truly wonderful place. Most importantly,It kept me off the street AND out of trouble!!!.Please,do not,in any way,DESTORY this heritage site!!!.How else will future generations know of the past?
Don't know if another signature is needed at this point but want to say anyway: I only learned of the speedway's existance last year (2006) thru a newspaper article which shocked me having grown up in Langley. Visted the site and felt a strange nostalgia for something I never even experienced. I totally support any efforts to bring the track back into use.
Many, many very fond lifetime memories. This little speedway kept many of us very busy and out of trouble throughout our youthful years. It was an excellent hands-on experience, which led many of us to pursue related trades and often starting out own businesses. This and all the economic spin-offs to local businesses made the speedway a huge asset to the community and would be great if it could continue. Many Thanks.
I am the current President of the Langley Speedway Historical Society. Please look us up on the internet at www.langleyspeedway.ca
Thanks again for all the support! Cheers!

I have fond memories of having driven on this track in the Claimer class, and wholeheartedly support this application of Langley Speedway to be a Heritage site.
Yesa for sure this is a good project to make happen. As a former track photographer for the Columbian newspaper and other publications in the 1970's I would urge everyone to sign on and support this endeavor. I have many photos in my files from a lot of races that are sure to bring back memories to all the drivers and track staffers and volunteers who were always on hand to make the weekends something to remember at that time.Callcontact me anytime by email. most of my racing was done at western speedway, but i'll always remember the great times we had when we raced langley. it was a great track with good people. this would be such a neat thing to obtain this designation.
