This is an effort to petition the United States Congress to legalize Marijuana. It has been too long that our society has oppressed marijuana smokers when there are so many more evils out there. I mean cigarretes are legal and if you smoke them you will die from a smoking related illiness. Your only hope is you get lucky and something else kills you first. As for alcohol, it is one of our nations worst problems. This is even more evident in our teen culture. So so many kids think it's ok to drink alcohol just because it is legal. This is not the right mentallity our children should be taking. As for marijuana users we have so many filling up our already strained prison systems. Yet we continue to put these so called "crimminals" behind bars. This is obsurd! Everyone of our presidents have smoked marijuana. That is for sure. Several of our first presidents even grew it. We are so quick to judge marijuana smokers these days, but we fail to remember that this country way established on the ideas of marijuana smokers. That's right! Our founding forefathers were marijuana smokers and their ideas led to the greatest nation that has ever been on this planet. And now it's illegal? I mean come on. Jefferson and Washington would be rolling over in their graves if they knew it was going to be like this. Hell they might of even wrote it into the bill of rights if they had known then that we would be hunted like animals for smoking an herb that God gave us.I mean really. They may have actually put it in the bill of rights if they had known it would be like it is now. This is tyranny. All the politicians are above the law and can do anything they want. Including smoking marijuanna. We are practically the only country in the world that illegalized marijuana. As for the other contries that have it illegal, just look at them and their economies. Most of them are third world countries. This is because of all the oppression. I mean if they illegalize your basic right to smoke marijuana think about all the other rights that you dont have in those countries. It all has to start somewhere. As for government comercials those are propaganda people. Havent you ever heard of the world propaganda. If you havent then you need to watch reefer madness. THis is an actual"educational" film that the government use to show kids like my dad when they were in school. I the opening of the movie it talks about cocaine and heroin and then it talks about an even more addictive and menacing drug marijuana. This is an actual government video that they use to show in schools saying that it was fact. But everyone knows heroin and marijuanna are no where near each other on anybodies scale. THis is so stupid and such a fine example of how how government scared the baby boomer generation into thinking marijuana it a violence inducing dangerous narcotic drug. Fortunately with advances in media people arent as naive about what the government tells us. And the government wonders why so many people dont trust them. Its because they try to fill us up with obvious lies. We are not stupid as a society and that is why there is such distrust in our own government. Now a days the government is continuing to put out anti marijuana comercials. What they dont realize is that we are a smarter society than their fathers generation and their efforts to brainwash us only alienates us further. They need to put a stop to all this now if they want a stronger unified america. Thank you for your time. And if you are an anti-marijuana person do not sign this petition.
