Bring Lebron James to Kansas City
Published June 21, 2010
Preamble: Whereas having a professional basketball organization is a legal and fundamental right to every city in the United States, and since Mr. David Stern has repeatedly refused to give Kansas City a team, and since we’ve built a new, state-of-the-art auditorium that’s begging for a permanent tenant, and since Mr. LeBron James, the best basketball player in the universe, is a free agent, and since the Kansas City Board possesses leaders with the constitutional burden of doing what is best for their people and the sports fan alike,
SECTION 1: Let the city create a temporary position to employ Mr. LeBron James.
SECTION 2: Let SECTION 1 be evidence to Commissioner Stern that we do indeed mean business.
SECTION 3: Let SECTION 2 result in Commissioner Stern backing down and giving us our much sought-after NBA Franchise.
SECTION 4: Let SECTION 3 terminate Mr. LeBron James’ contract with the city, which will be assumed by the newly appointed owners of the NBA franchise.
SECTION 5: Let downtown businesses experience a boom in traffic due to this new team.
SECTION 6: Let this bill go into effect on July 1, 2010 at 12:01 a.m.
