No matter what we are being told, file sharing is not damaging the movie and music industry, if this was the case why would 7 of the top 10 highest grossing films of all time, be released within the last 6 years.

Yes we understand that the industry deserves profit from those individuals that downloading and do not buy the original if they enjoy it and watch it numerous times, so thats where this pertition comes in.

Lets introduce a levy on blank cd-r and dvd-r media, lets say 10-20% and all the profits from this levy go directlly to the movie and music industry.

Don't think for one second that if the RIAA or MPAA are given money from cd-r and dvd-r sales that they would stop sueing for theft. It would be just another source of revenue. Don't give them anything they don't earn. They need to realize people are sick of being gouged and bring prices in line with demand.

Bacially the law states, file sharing using p2p is illegal because it breaks the copyrighted laws, if you read more on it the united states is, I think they only one who makes it illegal. So if you want to download a Europian/japanese/etc.. as long as it not in the same Region codes (codes that allow you to play it on an american player) it should be legalized... How would they tax cd/dvd+/-r cds anyway? All they can do is rise the price of cds, and send a profit in to the companys, and they will be getting like what 50 cents, and it will take too much time, because they need to inform the government, the cd company distrubuter, and the industrys Everyone in the industry is out looking for one thing which in money of course, so they will be asking for more than a 10-20% tax.... They will want at least 50%+... So this is what i think about this law.... Kyle

Movies and music CD's, over time wind up on a shelf collecting dust at some point. After awhile even the good ones fall victim.

Correct me if I'm wrong, sig 2 is right. As long as you're not selling it! YEAH RIGHT! How come cops aren't doing anything to immigrants selling BOOTLEG COPIES on the street?

If you buy DVD's with YOUR money. You should be able to copy it for friends if you want to. It's YOUR property once YOU'VE purchased it
