Mental health hospital admissions in England due to cannabis have risen by 85% under Labour, figures show.

In 1996-7, there were 510 admissions, rising to 946 in 2005-6, data obtained by shadow health secretary Andrew Lansley revealed.

The statistic 85% seems very high and will scare most parents into thinking cannabis is now too strong. But look at the real stats:

Admissions are not the same as patients, so one patient may have been admitted more than once.

So only 946 admissions in one year. Only 946 (Admissions) out of 60 million people. Out of those 60 million people they say about 2 million smoke (I say there’s many more), but let’s play by their figures.
