I am disappointed that you are excluding Mike Gravel from the upcoming presidential debate on October 30th due to his campaign not being as fiscally focussed as the others. I think this should be honoured and appreciated instead of disregarded as you have continually been doing. His message is critically unique in this election. Please consider opening up a little more to this beautiful person, beginning with inviting him to this debate. If money is so important, isn't it interesting and indicative of importance that he doesn't have so much?Thank you for your time,Sheryl Decterow
Why do you need to meet the fundraising requirements? Why do you need money to speak your mind? This is a debate where you debate the issues, regardless of your standing in polls.
As a concerned and active citizen here in Saint Paul, MN, I and many of my compatriots have been working hard on Senator Mike Gravel's campaign. The strength of the Senator's campaign is not the funds that he has raised but instead is the support and efforts of his supporters across the nation. It is my sincere belief that the polls are not accurate, given the face of new media in this campaign. And I feel that the use of money as a benchmark for entrance in the debates is extremely bad form. Mike raises money differently than all the other candidates (and he just achieved qualification for federal matching funds). Please invite Senator Gravel to the debate on October 30th. His voice is an important addition to the spectrum of discourse on the dais.Sincerely,Dan Connorwww.danconnor.com
I have really had it with the Democratic party although I have considered myself a Democrat since JFK ran for president. This is really the last straw when the big business interests keep excluding, or doing their best to exclude, Democratic candidates like Mike Gravel and Dennis Kucinich who have a much saner philosophy of how the country ought to be run.
Mike Gravel has been excluded from the MSNBC debate on October 30th. As a member of the Democratic Party I am highly disappointed by this as I consider him to be the most committed to honesty and political integrity of any candidate. Please reconsider his exclusion and keep the public discourse alive.
This matter does not promote the supposed values that America intends to uphold. Mike Gravel is making a bid for a public office, and it is important to have his voice heard in Philadelphia!
Let Mike Gravel participate in the debates. I've listened to all the candidates, checked out their websites, and studied up on their records and their positions and after all was said and done, I've decided to vote for Gravel in during the Illinois Primaries...NBC is deliberately trying to narrow our options...
This is a flagrant act of censorship. Sen. Gravel deserves to be included. We, the people have a RIGHT to hear what he has to say. Just because MSNBC doesn't want us to hear what he has to say or to further get to know our presidential candidates doesn't mean we sit back and let them control the information we hear. INCLUDE GRAVEL! IT'S OUR RIGHT!!
I am so mad I could spit! How dare you tell me who is a viable candidate for the office of President of the United States! I can tell you who's not fit to have broadcast license!
Let him speak! We need someone of substance who speaks the truth at these debates and Gravel is the only one who fits the bill. A Democratic debate silencing one of there own - disgusting. Free America - Gravel '08!
Mike Gravel should be able to speak at the debate. Even at debates a few months ago he was barely asked anything and ignored. This is sad where even a democratic debate can not be fair.
