Enough of these phony, arbitrary requirements. This comes off as yet another attempt to exclude from the debates critics of the status quo who aren't afraid to speak truth to power.Stop trying to marginalize candidates such as Gravel and Kucinich by concocting arbitrary hurtles designed to knock them out of the public debate and public eye and thwart their attempts to get their message out. This smacks of yet more scheming to annoint Hillary by excluding others from the debate. The fact that Gravel is relentlessly calling Hillary to task for her vote to encourage the Bush Administration to label the IRG a terrorist organization shouldn't be lost on the reader, nor the fact that NBC is owned by GE--one of the world's leading military contractors. Gravel and Kucinich are apparently raising points and issues that the MSM and the status quo insiders don't want wafting around in the public consciousness. No doubt, these new arbitrary requirements were dreamed up because Gravel is putting an embarassing public spotlight on Senator Clinton. These arbitrary exclusionary tactics only anger me and make me even less likely than I now am to ever vote for Hillary, even if she's annointed

By excluding Mike Gravel from speaking at the Oct. 30th debate, NBC is sending a message to not only our country, but to every country, that democracy is less important the capitalism. By excluding Mike Gravel, NBC is making the presidential vote for the American people, in that the people will have to choose between two differnt piles of garbage.

Making up rules as you go along does not serve Democracy.Having a million dollars does not serve Democracy. If your parent company GE which has been making billions from this war is pressuring you, it does not serve Democracy.Become what the constitution wants you to be a non-biais reporter of the new's. Stop the right wing machine and become independent of your handlers, money is not everything.

Setting arbitrary fundraising goals for the candidates only stifles the democratic process. Allow all candidates to participate in the debates so the people are actually allowed to pick their own candidate instead of choosing between those that are picked for us.

The fact that NBC has invented criteria to eliminate a well-qualified candidate from the Democratic debate indicates its lack of respect for letting the people decide. And it clearly shows their bias against someone who is willing to challenge the more compliant candidates.
#1821

Although I am a Ron Paul supporter, I believe that Mike Gravel is a man of integrity and principle who contributes positively to the ongoing discussion of the issues, and his voice deserves to be heard, even though his message, like that of Ron Paul, is inconvenient to the establishment of the Democratic party. We need more candidates who challenge the status quo and get people to think and engage with one another.
