Shame on NBC! Keith Olberman??? where are you??? This is a disgusting turn of events. I don't listen to Russert anymore (waste of time; friends in high places; always walking on egg shells; useless interviews). Now they're making rules to deny someone brave enough to put himself up to ridicule (by self-made
Why does the democratic party want to close off debate about their previous history of supporting war. I admit it is embarrassing. Of course, the media is part of the problem. Thank God for people like Mike Gravel and Ron Paul. They ought to be heard!
Another bad attempt at trying to silence someone who believes this country is heading down the wrong path and wants to take drastic steps to improve this countries well being, a true patriot that knows in order for us as a nation to succeed it requires drastic steps that benefit the people as a whole and not big business.
If there is nothing to hide, anyone should be allowed to voice their opinion as a presidential candidate. If we truly have a democracy and not an aristocracy, monetary wealth should not be a criteria for having one's opinion heard.
Not including Mike Gravel in the Philly debate is another kick in the pants for democracy. The candidates who are not front runners are the ones who bring up real issues to the American people. I for one am going tp vote for one of them in the primary so I want to hear from them in the debates. shame on you. I won't be watching NBC again and I am a nice rich middle class Grandmother!
NBC has an obligation to present all of the candidate for president in this debate. To exclude Mike Gravel is to fail at their mission as a member of the free press in this nation.
Let Gravel debate! The problems facing our country our vast, and the best tool we have is political conversation among a multitude of perspectives. Gravel's is a unique one. Shame on MSNBC for excluding him.
ALL presidential candidates should be included in these debates. NBC should not be restricting freedom of speech of candidates or arbitrarily make up rules re: who can and who cannot participate in important national discussions such as these. This smack of bias in the media and should be rectified IMMEDIATELY. It reflects very poorly on NBC to be acting this way and I suggest they change their tune if they expect voters to take their reporting or debates seriously. I am ashamed and angry that the media in our country would not let someone participate in the debate based on how much money they have or have not raised. Shame on NBC if they do not rectify the situation ASAP.
It is sad at the dog and pony shows called televised debates that seem to take precedence over substance and issues that may make the politically correct a little queasy.
Mike Gravel should certainly be included in the debate on Oct. 30th.
Our troops did their job that they were sent out to do. Bring them home and congradulate them for following orders and a job well done. Lets now focus on fixing the south from the hurrican that hit our country men.
Money corrupts, so the judge of who gets to speak is he who has the most money? What sort of backwards world is this where the mass media chooses our president.
Let Mike speak at the debate! Corporate interests in this country should be ashamed of themselves and it should be illegal to block anyone who makes a genuine attempt for the US Presidency. Let him speak! He is the only hope for this country.
I am appalled that Mike Gravel is being barred from the debate. Although I favor another candidate, I want to hear from ALL of them. It is an outrage that corporate America is deciding whose views we are permitted to hear!
Senator Gravel was a strong American leader and could be again. Media has a responsability to inform about the the news not make the news. your network was not voted into office. Run it responsibly.
