Mike Gravel seems to me the most honest, compassionate and mature politician I have ever seen. It`s a pleasure to hear him speak. I hope there are enough people out there to support him.
Senator Gravel should definatly be allowed to speak. If MSNBC wants to start cutting the candidates from the debates after the primaries begin, then ok, but not before a single ballot has been cast! All voices need to be heard, so that voters are allowed to hear all viewpoints.
I think Gravel is easily one of the most interesting candidates. His following is small but significant and his voice is important to the debate. I see the financial restrictions placed on candidates for debate inclusion as one of the many serious threats to our democracy stemming from the behavior of the media. The candidates with the most money from big business and special interests groups are the ones who get the most coverage. Ironically, they are the ones who can most easily afford commercial coverage. Candidates like Gravel, Paul, etc. who accept only small donations from private citizens, etc. are not considered serious. The networks need to realize that their marginalization of these candidates is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Banning any candidate from speaking is absurd! Its bad enough that he gets least amount of time while on stage. Let him speak! Is NBC afraid of his honesty?
The specifications for being invited are discriminatory for those without affluence from big business money. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME! Not all of us are sheep and blind, ya know?!?
Last I checked money was not a constitutional requirement for presidency. Thus, he is being discriminated against because he is running on the issues and not on the money given to him by big companies who have no interest in the issues but only interests in their pockets.
What the hell is wrong with you people? This is not fair, unamerican, against the constitution, and you know it. Grow a spine and let whomever has balls enough to run into the debate.
If you bar Mike Gravel from teh October 30th debate, it amounts to censorship and a rejection of the principles this country was founded on. I and the rest of the American public deserve to hear ALL the candidates.
M-I-K-Elet the man on NBC!!M-I-K-Elet the man on NBC!!it's not a debate without people that actually debate. It's more of a sad showcasing of who has been paidM-I-K-Elet the man on NBC!!!
If the DNC is going to exclude Mike Gravel, then our party is no different than the GOP in that money is the GOD who makes the rules. It appears the DNC has become the party of exclusion: Florida, Michigan, and now Gravel. It isn't over until the voting is completed, in America anything should be possible. Who is the DNC to exclude Mike Gravel? Or, have you all ready selected the candidate with themost money should be the winner? let Mike Gravel participate in the debate!
NBC's attempt to censor Senator Gravel comes on the heels of the NAACP forum, wherein Sen Edwards and Clinton were overheard colluding on narrowing the field of candidates. Frankly, I am surprised he has lasted as long as he did. With that said, censoring a man who served his country both in the military and in public service is inimical to the tenets of journalism. Me thinks Chuck Todd, Tim Russert and all of NBC News is in dire need of a civics class brush up.Let Gravel Speak.
Gravel is raising important national issues that the nation needs to hear and the media has the ethical obligation to see that these issues are raised in a public forum
It is not the DNC or NBC's role to decide which of our candidates we get to hear. If NBC does this I am for petitioning the FCC to revoke the broadcasting licenses of their affiliates.
Gravel is the only candidate that speaks the truth! Republicans and Democrats want you to believe they're different, but essentially they're the same. We need change; we need Gravel.
