MAINSTREAM MEDIA MAKES ME ILL: Having Mike Gravel at the debates is the only chance any of these debates have of steering clear, if only momentarily, of the empty, corporate-run political rhetoric that mainstream media shoves down our throats. It makes me sick that a candidate as honest and upright and as free of the
This is something I always new existed. I'm so sorry you had to be the target of such unfairness. Seems like the monster is always about money. I wish you luck and don't give up. It's a shame that you have to fight to be heard.
The debates should be open to any one who wants or is running. Money or trips should have any role in scheduling debates. It sounds like corporate america wants to suck it to a democracy.
The media doesn't ever give him enough time to speak and now they want to shut him completely up. We need to hear what Mike Gravel has to say. LET HIM SPEAK!!!
All candidates sponsored by a party should be included in all debates if they choose. Independents should not be excluded either but that is a different issue and a harder line to draw. Regardless, Gravel has a lot of support and is being persecuted for being out-spoken and honest in his opinions and views. Please allow Gravel to participate in the debate!
Mr. Gravel, while not the media darling, is a must at these debates as he appears to be one of the few candidates (along with Mr. Kucinich) who look to challenge and stimulate dialog. Without Mr. Gravel, the debates become mere showcases of Mrs. Clinton and a group of men vying to be vice president.
It is disgraceful that Mike Gravel is to be excluded from a Democratic debate. His voice has been important in previous debates. At times, I think that he is the only sane candidate on stage.I strongly urge MSNBC to include the voice of Mike Gravel in the next debate - or to exclude Dennis Kucinich, Chris Dodd, Joe Biden and Bill Richardson. I am not committed to Senator Gravel's campaign - but I am in favor of fair play.Sincererly yours,William Barber
Sen. Gravel should be heard. I'd like to think that I'm not so idealistic as to think that the electoral process can't be this contaminated by money? I love Keith Olbermann's show, but would be willing to stop watching it if it were to come to light that NBC/MSNBC excluded Mike Gravel based on fundraising.
Last I checked, this was a democracy. I want a real debate concerning our impending war with Iran and our current disaster in Iraq. Gravel's voice must be heard!
Do not exclude Mike Gravel from the Oct. 30 debate in Philadelphia. You provide airtime to Steven Colbert, whose candidacy is a bad joke and exclude a former Senator with important perspectives and blessed independence from the Clinton/Obama show. Outrageous!
