I support this petition. We need MORE Live Music outlets in NSW there are too many restrictions being placed on the community - what's wrong with going out & enjoying yourself?
Music is my livelihood. If I chose to work as a barista or a toll-collector would anybody at a gov. level want to put the skids on me? If Australain culture must be reduced to the footy, cricket and drinking with the TV on, then what a sorry state it is.
There truly is a draught in this state.Not only water but live music venues as well! Give us the nurishment we need for this fading entertainment outlet.

I have given 37 years of my life to the entertainment industry in Australia and the most recent State and Federal governments have just about destroyed it just like they destroyed other types of minority performance here in Australia. Greedy, Greedy, Greedy and no thought for the domino effect.
Once upon a time there were lots of venues large and small. Consequently there was also was lots of music and people were very happy. Now there are less and less venues (especially the intimate small and cosy venues)and people are increasingly unhappier.
Live music is essential to human sanity. It helps us to feel alive, get out of ourselves and our lives and just be free for a short time. In addition, live music supports young, up and coming musicians, some of which go on to become some of Australia's most treasured exports.
We need more support for musicians, not less!
Our access to live musicians and as musicians our access to an audience is scared. How can we possibly think of ever undermining the beautiful relationship between artist and punter? Unthinkable! More live music, not less. There's soul in them there instruments....
