WAy over do.Augusta should have been added long time ago.PLEASE ! PLEASE ! PLEASE put Augusta on the agenda in Loving meemory of Our God Fathter of Soul, JAMES BROWN our native Georgian . (AUGUSTA)
Augusta, Georgia has been called "Little Atlanta" and should have the recognition it deserves. We have talent here and should not have to go to Atlanta in order to be appreciated for our efforts.
I've sent a letter to State Senator Mullis about 2 to 3 years ago about the Parade of Quartets being included in the Hall of Fame as well and conversed with the late Hon. Henry Howard's son Wayne about it on occassion. Never heard anything.
With James Brown, The Parade of Quartets, Oprea's Jessye Norman, Country music's Terri Gibbs, Jazz music's Wycliffe Gordon and others, its an obsurd omittance (intentional or unintentional) that Augusta is not part of this after it birthed these musical geniuses!!!!
This would be a no-brainer if only for James Brown; given Augusta's rich musical tradition, it is a HUGE omission not to be included. It's about the music, not about the marketing, fix it NOW!
i have a question, why isn't the mayor and every politician in local government(in augusta) totally pissed?and doing more to correct this. James Brown influnced a great portion of popular music worldwide for over the past 30 40 years.Wow!!!
Augusta is very active in the arts and we have a lot to offer and a very rich musical history deserving to be added to the Georgia Music Hall of Fame! Your consideration in this matter will be greatly appreciated by the citizens of Augusta.
I definitely, without a doubt think that Augusta should be on the GA Music Trail. Augusta is the second largest city in GA, there is absolutely no reason why Augusta shouldn't be recognized. Everyone needs to stop sleeping on Augusta.
One name said many way says it all.
James Brown.
Godfather of Sould.
The hardest working man in show business.
The amazing Mr Please, Please, Please.
Soul Brother #1
Just like everything else that needs2get accomplish in this world, this needs our support.and if we dont let them know that we care 4 this city 2 B recognized 4 da' talent thats here, they wont care. thank you 4 who started this and now is involving all of us in how we could make a difference.its about time.
The question is, why is it not on the list? Augusta will not only be recognized for its musical selection of James Brown, but it will bring tourists which they will learn little known history facts about this area.
Augusta needs to be on the list due to all the talent that has come from here and is still coming from here and making it big.
Now let me get a HELL YEA for Augusta.
My dad,James Brown said Music can change the World and how people love.Dad left that legacy for us ALL to follow. The GA Music Hall of Fame owe that to Augusta.I'm with u.
Music would not be what it is today if it wasn't for James Brown, I mean come on he's one of the most sampled artist in the world, what's the hold up? Augusta should have been added like yesterday.
Today, Jessye Norman is the highest paid African -American opera singer in the world,.....What James Brown has done in music is unparallel, WyCliffe Gordon is on his way to making history, and there is much more to come, Augusta's music scene is Georgia's sleeping giant, Augusta, has proven herself and the best is yet to come, Augusta is now!
