Legend of the Seeker on Blu-ray
To: Robert Iger, President/CEO of the Walt Disney Company, and the subsidiary ABC Studios.
We, the undersigned, are petitioning for ABC Studios to release Legend of the Seeker: Season 1 on Blu-ray format.
The syndicated show is filmed and broadcasted in high definition - to deprive loyal fans the chance to own the series in high definition leaves a deep void of which has yet to be filled.
The official statement is that "Blu-ray format will not be released until the cost of Blu-Ray comes down a bit. ABC is only releasing LOST in Blu-Ray television series format for right now. Prices expected to come down for Christmas/Winter Holidays." While ABC Studios' concern for pricing of Blu-ray is both reasonable and understandable, there are many facts to support the notion that the release of Legend of the Seeker: Season 1 on Blu-ray is both beneficial to the company and the consumer.
Research shows that consumers are converting to Blu-ray players at an exponential rate, so the release of Legend of the Seeker in Blu-ray will not only help profits but bring more viewers and fans to the series.
Of the many celebrated shows that ABC Studios produces, Legend of the Seeker stands distinguished for it's high production value and use of New Zealand exteriors. Blu-ray can provide unparalleled immersion into that scenery and environment and to be unable to provide that experience at this time is lamentable.
Please consider our plea for the Blu-ray release of the Legend of the Seeker series as soon as possible. Thank you for your time and consideration
