I haven't bought a next gen console and the only console I'm interested in is the PS3, but since the price and power consumption of the PS3 is too high at the moment, I'm waiting for a hardware revision and a good price drop.
Ken K. was trully misguided in thinking folks would pay anything for a PS3. Just like any other product, price is a major factor and noone is immune to pricing themselves out of the market expecially when faced with a similar offering from the competition at a lesser price. Blu Ray is cool but it's not something folks are willing to pay extra for right now and Sony thinking folks were willing to pay extra for something they don't feel they need was just a bad management decision as far as gaming goes. It was a great decision on the format front though.

Only reason i signed is to inform others not too.sony will lower the price when there not making a lose of 2 billion a year.
the sells are alot lower than expected and my friends really want one but the price is to high. my friends live in the hood and the price is alot more for them. they afforded to buy a ps3 when it was $300 but the PS3 price is ludachris since it really doesnt do anything that the 360 do besides blu ray which most people dont have hdtv. I have an PS3 to show my support to siny and i think its not bad but needs software. I do play my Wii and 360 a liite more because of Wii fun for the whole family and 360 addictive achievements and onlline
I can name a half dozen buddies that want one, they just can't afford one. Don't get me wrong--I camped out in the cold all night to buy one at full price and could have sold it for $2500 but didn't--it's worth that much to me. I think $600.00 is an exceptional value, but NOT EVERYONE CAN AFFORD THIS. In order to get good games you must have an install base...so I see no choice but to lower the price.
I really Love you guys at Sony, man trust me, All I want is for you to continue to succeed and I think a Price cut would definately allow you to do so. You will be able to succed without one, but man this is an uphill battle whose scales would tip in a major way if you guys would just cut the price.

$599 might seem a bit much for some... but it's really not all THAT bad! Come on! This petition is totally unnecessary anyway...Sony knew perfectly well what they were getting themselves into when they slapped that price on in the first place! They proved more so when they jacked prices the hell up even more for those poor Europeans... and despite all that, PS3s are still out selling X360s and Wiis in England...lol! My guess is since Christmas is coming up, I think it's safe to assume there'll be a price drop before/by then for both PAL
I really badly want a ps3, and i think alot more people. But I really dont got the money, and Its just way to expensive for just to play games,. and im really not going to save up money for a whole year so i can play on a ps3. so just lower the price so much more people can enjoy it! :D yeey!
sony no longer have any problems in the producton of PS3 ,, and the production cost is lower now ; they sjould decrease the price tag to at least 100$ ,most of us gamers cant afford the expensive machine SO PLEASE SONY HELP US TO HELP YOU
When It Drops I will buy buy one, it's what I'm waiting for. I hope it's soon because the good games are starting to come out, but I will still wait if I have to and buy the games cheaper later on.
