Dear Procter and Gamble,

we the undersigned would like for the two characters of the daytime soap opera "As the World Turns", Luke Snyder and Noah Mayer, to be given more airtime on the show, and especially for the character of Noah Mayer to become a more stand-alone persona with scenes of his own.
There is a great appreciation among us fans for how the personality of Noah has evolved over the years, as well as for Jake Silbermann who has greatly improved in his portrayal of Noah.
Fans have grown to love Noah as indispensable part of the complementary pairing, but many feel he deserves more.

As reasons for that we list:

- We feel that a more pronounced story of his own would bring greater color and depth not only to the character of Noah but also to the popular couple that is Luke and Noah.

- As a character he has chosen Oakdale as his home and not only found a loving partner in Luke Snyder but also a new, accepting family. Therefore, we fans feel he should be treated as an integral part of the larger Oakdale family and be given more airtime, together with Luke but also alone.

- Considering their often enough rushed story lines and limited array of expressing their affection to one another, we believe that they deserve better structured stories and would like to see their love portrayed on screen like that of any other heterosexual couple on the show.

- It is blatantly obvious that Noah's lines revolve around Luke most of the time, even when he is shown "alone" with the only other character he currently interacts with (Mason). As a character that makes him lifeless.

- At this point of their portrayal on screen their relationship is almost non-existant.


Far be it from us to only complain and demand, we would also like to offer suggestions:

- In our point of view it would make sense to have Noah work at Java when other Oakdale characters visit it.

- As he is regarded as part of the Snyder family and doesn't have one of his own in town, he would realistically interact with them on a regular basis.

- We can imagine interactions with other male core characters of the show like those with Dusty, who became a father figure to him at some point.

- Why not show more of Noah's work for college and interactions with other friends/classmates?

- Luke and Noah should be shown in their daily routine as a couple, whether at their invisible apartment or other places, sharing a meal or a movie..


We fans feel passionate about our beloved favorite pairing and are grateful for the creation of their story in the first place. The fact that "As the world turns" has been a trailblazer in featuring a young gay couple on a daytime soap is all the more reason to give their story greater consideration and respect than we feel is currently the case.
At last: A love story is a love story. The fact that it is a gay love story does not mean that it should be treated any differently, as it is expressed in no way differently. This one of Luke and Noah is a gift. Please be more generous with it - viewers and fans will thank you for it, and the world could use a little more LOVE!
