Created by PACT -- Protect Allergic Children Today on May 8, 2007, 9:46 am

We are asking for your support on this very important legislation, the "ANAPHYLACTIC STUDENT PROTECTION ACT 2007" - BILL M210. David Cubberley has introduced this legislation to protect students with life-threatening allergies in our schools. We are looking to the government of British Columbia to provide leadership in developing this safety standard to prevent child and teen deaths due to anaphylaxis.

BILL M210 will provide a provincial standard for proper management of life-threatening allergies in schools for the 2 to 4% of students at risk for anaphylaxis.

Anaphylaxis can be a fatal allergic reaction. The treatment is immediate administration of epinephrine. Deaths occur when the reaction is not recognized and when there is a delay in administering epinephrine. I implore you to support BILL M210 now before a preventable tragedy occurs in a BC school.

People do not respect this right of protection and it will always be a source of anxiety for these children and their parents. Please help ease this worry by putting rules in place at school.
