I want this game, I didn't want it as much before untill over sensitive people banned it, I hate people like Jack Thompson, blaming video games is simply avoiding the problem of violence and will just let it grow, I hate you people as YOU are the ones making society a dangerous and awful place.you thought Violent video ganes where bad? I think Angry Violent video gamers are worse, and banning the game doesn't help, it gives them fuel, and I personally beleive this will cause more violence than it prevents!,Xander
I have been a fan of Manhunt since the first game was put on the market and it hurts to see its sequel be treated so unfairly. Hearing the game was AO and wouldn't come out sucked so I hope by signing this petition Rockstar Games could consider this option and make it fair for all the Manhunt fans out there. So if you do read this, Rockstar Games, please consider it. We're counting on you guys now more than ever.
I agree. If Theatre isn't censored, why are computer games? We have freedom in free countrys yet ESRB and BBFC dont regonise that. At least in America you can get it on PC, in Britain we can't play it at all
I cannot agree. There comes a point where the producers of any media has to take responability for the product they produce. Yes we are adults, yes we know its not real. However we are obviously being children by simply refusing to acknowledge that such a product can and if released probably will have a negative effect on children. Whether or not the parents are to blame, the fact remains that the content of the game may have negative effects on the thoughts of minors and just pretending that kids wont play it is ridiculous. The BBFC made a decision based on their hands on experience of te game.I will not morally campaign for a game that I have not experienced and honestly have very little interest in aside from the censorship issue.
Its my own choice what to play! And I dont wanna some smart ass daddy from America or whereever he come from make a decision what should I do in my life. Im 28 and I am totally responcible for my own actions, interests and preferences. Im from Europe and here WE NEED MANHUNT UNCUT AND AS BLOODY AS IT IS!
Shocking! A punch in the face for freedom of speech (or play). Stop wasting resources on controlling people, and worry more about REALLY important things (famine, war and rape, to name a few).
I can't imagine that anything held within this game is worse than what is found in the many horror films that have been released over the last few years. This is just another case of using videogames as a scape goat for problems in society. I seem to remember video games being blamed for the horrific school shootings recently, this went quiet when they realised that he didn't play the games they were blaming (and failed to mention the religious tatoo on his arm).Stop blaming video games.
I want this game un banned!!!!! We need to take in consideration, that the violence is nothing like what children / people are seeing in movies like the HOSTEL and HOSTEL 2 !!! These movies are more realistic and controversial than Manhunt 2, yet they are released to the public with no warnings or anything an it's BS !
Censorship has never worked. We should be free to choose what to read, watch and listen too. Stop dictating how we should live our lives and using the protection of children as an excuse for your own moral agenda.
Parents have sued vidoe game companies for their games getting in the hands of their child. If they were so upset aobut the game why didn't they look at the box and see the rating before they bought it. This is exactly why they have ratings on vidoe game boxes to prevent all this. Some game even have warnings. You shouldn't punish the true fans of manhunt for the actions of someone else.Vidoe games and movies are alike they bother provide entertainment. But I don't see gory movies like hostile and Saw getting banned for their subject matter now do we? how is this fair.Even toher games more violent than Manhunt 2 have gotten away with the ESRB rating of M. Gears of war for example had relaly gory parts some to even surpass Manhunts gore level.IF you don't like the game dont buy it, The true fans of Manhunt and Manhunt 2 shouldn't be punished jsut because lack of common sense has left the building ages ago
I think we as adults have every right to buy what we want as is intended by the publisher that makes the art be it game movie or book. We shall not be put into the dark beacues some people belive it's there right to tell me what i can and can't watch or play or read. I will buy this title as it was intended with an ao stamped clearly on the box and i will be proud of my buy.
Do you not realize that by banning the game you are only advocating parents' ability to neglect protecting their children themselves? I admire the effort, but the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
I completely agree with all points of this petition. I'd like to add that it would make much more sense to just realign the ESRB's rating system. A change to the Mature rating recommendation from 17 to 18 , completely eliminating the AO rating and rating all current AO content Mature. Establish policies making it illegal to sell Mature content to minors just like cigarettes, alcohol and pronography and enforce these policies. If parents purchase these items for their children, let them be responsible for the child's development.
We should be allowed to choose what we want like we do with food, they can not run out lives, even if the ban stands we will get copies, it will just be the UK market loosing out.
