I have played these types of games for years. I have never even once though about killing someone. I would however like to to sue jack thompson for the wasted government money on all the trials and stupid court cases involving psychos that the parenting enviroment or chemical imbalance has caused.
We are not little children ! We are adults making adult decissions about adult entertainment. We don't need somebody to dictate our values. To keep this game and other adult material out of _childrens_ hands, thats what the rating system is for ! However currently its kept out of _adults_ hands and that's wrong !
I totally agree!! We are not crazy people, who will start killing others after playing this game. Besides, I have played the first Manhunt and I have to say that there are much worse games out. I don't want them to cut gory scenes out eigher!! Please just let us buy the game. Giving it a high rating is ok. Its the parents fault if they still buy the game for their children. Maybe make a big warning on the box...
I am tired of seeing government and the community at large decide for me. I am an adult and as such feel that I am more than capable to make my own entertainment decisions. While some games, such as Manhunt 2, may have questionable content to some can we not also say the same of Shakespeare. One of the greatest, and few would disagree, writers in history. In one of his most well known works, Hamlet, has themes of psychotic visions, murder, suicide, and even incest run rampant throughout the work. Yet this work with its questionable material, is required reading for middle and high school children. Am I suggesting that we let these same children have access to Manhunt 2, no, of course not. I am, however, saying that perhaps we need to let us adults who can make our own choices do exactly that.
More power to everyone in the UK! It's rediculous, when they do this in the US. I don't like the way you're being treated as an educated gaming community.
A game is a game. I remember when Manhunt came out on PS2. I pre-ordered it, picked it up the day of release, and found it to be the best horror game I've ever played up to date. Thank you, Rockstar.
I believe this game have been rated AO because some group of people think that the ESRB worth. They give this game an AO rating because because they have to proove their utility. This game is intended to the adult public, not for the kids. If we have to put the blame on something it is note the content of the game, but on the parents who allow their kids to play this kind of game. We want this game, not because the violence, but because the psychological and creepy story behind that kind of violence.
Against all forms of censorship. Gaming is our hobby, our past-time, you may not like it, understand it or agree with all of it, but its ours so dont censor it!
Why would u wanna ban a game 4 being violent when kids and adults c it every day in the movies and tv with much more reality and brutality in it. Like Hostel or Saw
We are adults and as such, we should be allowed to choose our media. Be this through the purchasing of a copy of Saw Uncut on DVD, the latest Marilyn Manson CD, a copy of American Psycho on Paperback, or even an uncut copy of Manhunt 2 for the PSP, PS2, or Wii.
This game's content was supposed to resemble that of Manhunt 1. As this is the case, and Rockstar even aimed for the same content rating, I see no reason for the
Hello im from mexico, and well i just want to say that its a huge shame that they banning this great game...Remember this industry is not only for children...
THis game has a right to be released as any other game, countrys don't ban art of famous artists because of there content, then why of a game, the countrys are not allowing people to view what they want, getting rid of our freedoms are just plain WRONG
Adults should be able to choose their media, and shouldn't be restricted like this just for the risk of someone underage finding access to it - they always do anyway.
This game is aimed at adults. It is unfair that we can not choose what media we wish to play.I am 20 and loved the first game. This game should be realsed uncut. The devolopers clearly stated it is for ADULTS ONLY! I stand by rockstar fully in this.
I support this arguement, there are people not whose ages are not much different from the people who banned the game who wish to purchase this game, they are old enough and mature enough to play these games, as for those who say
Freedom of expression and freedom of speech where have they gone. No one should make the decision of what I watch or play. Please let me have the choice to watch and play what I desire.
I respect Rockstar Games, and the games they make, and they put alot of effort and money into this game, and i think they don't have the right to ban it, the game is a piece of art, it's not Rockstars fault if somebody is mentally unstable or disturbed, this game is clearly created for an enjoyable and entertaining experience and nothing more, it's just a video game like any other.
Censorship of an art form is tantamount to Nazism.A video game is art.It also has the word game in it, not reality. Also ignorance of what this game is seems to be the norm. Not many people have played it nor know what it is they just except what someone says it is...Grow up and get your morals out of mine.Thank you very much.
I support this petition in many ways, if hostel can get released UNCUT, and still with a 18 rating well thats just messed up, hostel shows more horrors and pronography in the movie then manhunt will probably show!
I may not be a fan of the series, I've not played it. Regardless, I feel this game, and others that have or will face similar accusations, should be unhindered in their release. Let us decide whether or not we wish to play them. For God's sake, don't keep yourself from making money. Use common sense, or if you lack that, logical thinking.
There is plenty of adult only material, why not release this game thru an adult store? Send an edited version to all the retail chains and make everyone happy!
I'm 22 yrs old and games should be treated as movies, they are R rated movies and if you are old enough you should be able to acces them, the game has a rating!
