If this game, or any other violent media provokes someone to actually copy the horrific scenes they see/hear/read, then that someone already has MAJOR head problems... and society shouldn't be subjected to these people anyway, regardless of their age. And if they are young sickos you sould be looking at the parents not the developers of an already well respected game company. No-ones forcing this purchase upon anyone.. nor is anyone forcing anyone to play this game.If this game does get unbanned and I buy it, I won't be directly OR indirectly hurting anyone. This game was not made to train psycos, it was made for adults only to enjoy like we would a film/book etc.
i really want manhunt 2 unbanned couse i rly want this to be on the psp and if they think that this game would make people violent they can dream on, couse i'm a calm guy, and i would never dream of hurting another person in real life, and my favorite game is postal 2: apocalyps weekend
the esrb are neo nazi ass jockies. manhunt 2 should stay uncut. and its not rockstar's falt that their are dumb ass kids buying the games. its the fathers and mothers falt, by i mean they give money to their kid and think they spend it on school suppies. and when the kids act bad in school, they blame video games, and not their dumb asses! freedom of speech!
just pathetic !!!!!! this game does not make you wrong in the head !!!!!!! u hav 2 be that way at 1st!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! Fxxx JACK THOMPSON AND Fxxx THE RATIN COMPANY!!!!
i think it is unjust that we blame kids as reason that manhunt should be banned. how many serial killers, rapist have we prosecuted admitted that all the ideas and reasons behind their crimes is because they played too many bearing the same resemblance? is there any proof that playing such games can raise the likelihood of violence in someone?there are more violence and violent death in movies that we watch today. why dont we ban them too? kids have access to those too right? why dont we ban movies too? nowadays anything can be gotten from the internet. why not ban the internet as well? it is the retailers and parents to blame if kids get their hands on such material. the developers has played their part in getting the ratings for the games so is it their part too to look out if the kids buy/play these games?
I believe it's the time that parents realize games aren't only for their children, and it's THEIR responsibility to keep titles like this away from their kids. NOT Nintendo, Sony, or the Government.
remove the ban. theirs no reason to band something thats just a video game, its not real life, and some movies are much MUCH worse than a video game...come-on, NINTENDO of all companies wants this game on their system, its a form of entertainment and art.
Governments and organizations need to stop making my decisions for me. As an adult, I'm old enough to make my own choices and deal with the consequences of my actions.
People should be given the choice to choose. Even if this did go ahead as adult only, or banned in the UK, if the sellers sold it, children would still get their hands on it if they wanted to. The sellers need to be more vigilant to the people they sell it to, and the parents of said children more vigilant of their children buying and playing it!This is, all in all, a video game. If people want to kill from playing it, then they are already sick in the head, and are just as likely to want to kill after watching halloween, nightmare on elm street, friday the 13th, saw, texas chainsaw massacre, a clockwork orange, all of those sort of films/books. So why prejudice us games players???
I agree with a lot of things Jack Thomson and co. have said, and I've got a 14 year old brother (i'm 21) who I wouldn't EVER want seeing these type of games. But I don't want to play censored versions of anything. I'm old enough, stable enough and sensible enough to choose what I want to see and play.
Oh yes. Let everyone else decide whats best for us. Let them come to our houses holding the remote control telling us what to watch, go to our schools and decide what our kids should learn, go to our restaraunts and tell us what is healthy eating. Hang on, they already do this. And every year they always seem to contradict themselves and their past decisions. So many horror films were banned in the 80's, only to be released a decade later, unedited. Surely something must be wrong. Evolution of mankind for such a long time has remained the same and unwavered, but our responses to external stimulii, what
It's a real shame that developers are put in between a rock and a hard place when it comes to adult content. It's really hypocritical and closed minded to allow movies to get away with mature content and still be allowed to be sold at big retail outsets like walmart and best buy, yet when it's a game that has adult content it gets shunned. Adult content should be dealt with accordingly (with labels, and restrictions placed on them) but not to an extreme of being banned completely. Retail outlets should be able to sell this content to those of appropriate age. Stop trying to control the gaming industry, and realize that there are ADULTS who have grown up with games in their lives from the beginning and are still gamers today. This is a new day in age, and silly bans like this are only proof that something is wrong with the way we are viewing the gaming industry. There is an
Please release the game in the current state. Full blown version please. This whole thing is so two faced. It is okay for music, DVD and other things to be released uncut, uncensored and sold at Wal-Maart and Gas stations. However, since Video Games are a
Stop trying to control the videogame market and blaming games with violent content for all the things happening in the real world when it really is the parent's fault for not knowing how to deal with their children.
i think its retarded to ban a video game of all the violent games that came out video games r suppose to be fun and they blame video games for violence how stupid does ESRB have to be that they dont realize its the parents to blame for buying the violent games for their kids i dont think manhunt 2 should be banned cuz of violence if thats the case then alot of movies should be banned too
I have been waiting for this game for ages.Im a big fan of the first manhunt. It is a disgrace to ban this game. How can they ban this when movies such as sawwhich looks more real come out with a ma 15 rating. Be fair realease the aoversion and it will sell alot.Release a cut version as well but don't let this bull shit stand. sooner or later more violent games will get banned because they'll use this as an example.
A video game is still art and as such should be allowed to express and portray whatever its programmers intended. A clear warning on the game cover and retailers refusing to sell the game to children would be adequate for controlling violent content.
This is not just for manhunt 2, but for all future games as well. We need to show the government that this type of censorship is wrong. Enough is enough and we're not gonna take it anymore!
