Just because its a AO rating shouldn't mean it should be banned. If thats the case then why don't people try and get movies like Hostel banned. Manhunt deserves to be released as it should have been.

This is nothing more than a game. Why should us gamers who have anticipated this games release, be punished because some parents are too stupid to realise this game isn't for children? The Adult Only rating isn't any different from the 18 rating in the UK - it simply means that anyone under the age of 18 cannot buy the games. Yet Sony and Nintendo slap a

The BBFC should not have the power to ban anything and they should ONLY classify material. We all know that Manhunt 2 is not worse than the first title released some time ago and yet the BBFC find it appropriate to ban this. Why? Does the political and media pressure have nothing to do with this decision? I doubt it.I say strip the powers that the BBFC has to ban ANYTHING and let's keep the board only for classification purpose. As a man of 39 years who has been exposed to violence in many ways (movies, books and games) I do not need a bunch of baby sitters to tell me what to do and not to do.

#619

Haydong said 06/23/07, 2:41 am (verified)
How can they ban a game that depicts acts that can be seen in movies that pass easily with an R or 18 Rating, and they have a much more realistic depiction of the event. We should be free to choose the media we consume and too many people are picking up the bandwagon that games cause killings. This will never and can never be proven - cause I watch hostel doenst mean I want to go around butchering people afterward. If I was already mentally disturbed enough to think that then maybe it would give me ideas, but out of millions of people who experience a game only one link needs to be found and suddenly it is scapegoated. As is the case here after Manhunt 1 .

The consumer should be able to delegate whether they want to play the game or not.. and they have that choice.. no one is forcing them to play the game, its PURELY THEIR CHOICE to purchase the game or not! And its up the RETAILERS NOT to sell Mature games to under 18s!Keep the expression of art free - or otherwise we'll be losing another part of our freedom.
