A game based on the worst behaviors of our specie. But so are others as the idea of killing is a component of all games (even the ones rated for children). If we are not able to distinguish between good and bad then it's our moral system to blame, not a video game. I choose to play this game because its novelty and not to prepare for my first murder.
Stop the attempts to protect little children from games that they should not be playing. Releasing this game with an AO rating will keep it out of the hands of many more underaged users. Making this game M rated will allow easier access to people of all ages, and we know this game is obviously intended for adults only
This whole situation infuriates me. I cannot believe that Sony, Nintendo, and the majority of retailers refuse to treat its consumer base with any sort of respect and is allowing the ESRB to finagle the game into a state of purgatory in lieu of not being able to ban it outright as the UK has.Either the ESRB needs to change their tune in consideration of how similar Manhunt 2 is to its predecessor or the retailers need to learn that the world does not consist solely of children--Or even families for that matter. This may not be a legal matter, and I certainly don't want it to be, but through the use of absolutely despicable channels, the elements that have effetively destroyed Rockstar's art have taken away my choice as a consumer. Do they even realize how oppressive this is? They should be ashamed of themselves for being so bias and, perhaps, even bitter towards the sources of violent media. Their favor of one ratio over another is disgusting
I support Take Two/RockStar Entertainment and any other companys willing to publish Adult Oriented Games. You can't allow just movies and books to have such ratings and the worlds not just populated by children either. Adults deserve to have Adult games.
No government should be allowed to say what we can't and cannot choose to use/play, Manhunt 2 is an Adult game, so i agree that only people that are mature enough for it should play that game, but we do not live in censorship!
The banning of this game is totally pathetic. As already stated movies like the Saw series and Hostel are just as sadistic and graphic, yet are allowed!?! How does that make sense?Plus, I don't really see what this banning is going to achieve, as those that really want to play the game will just import it...
Censorship in any form is wrong. it goes against many of the ideas that are important to not only my country but many aorund the world. Censorship is often the first step on the road to tyranny and must be fought with equal fervor as terrorism, racism, and other human rights violations.
Un-ban the game!!!! The publicity will make parents not buy this form of art entertainment for their children but us adults should be able to make our own decisions. We live in a so called free country yet we cannot be allowed to buy a piece of entertainment in which we so desire. Is this even a breach of our human rights? Why do video games get marked to a more strict standard in comparison to movies? surely the Saw franchise and the hostel movies contain more lifelike and disturbing imagery than the cartoon/animated violence which is portrayed in manhunt 2. Yet these pieces of art entertainment still manage to receive a rating. Un-ban Manhunt 2; to make this more fair. shops will be cautious because of the press to not sale this game to minors anyway, and us adults should be allowed to make our own decision as we are just that- ADULTS!!!
Please, leave it like it is, we will choose if we like or not. Freedom of expression it's a MUST in those days. Responsability with minors relies in their parents and videogame sellers. Thanks.
If Manhunt 2 gets banned then movies like SAW and Hostel should be banned too, but I don't see that happening do I? So what's the catch? Are people afraid that this game will trigger people into killing other people? Yet they allow just as brutal movies to be sold and shown in cinemas. It just doesn't make any sense.
