I support this petition. I also support any effort to transplant a sense of humor to Islamists who deserately need one. (upset over cartoons? Get over it you crying little babies!)
I certainly defend the right to equality, freedom and secular values.
However, I find the petition too apologetic. This is not just an academic debate, and I'm much less concerned about depriving Muslims of rights they may or may not subscribe to as I am concerned about Muslims' attempts to exploit our tolerance of different cultures to take away our rights--rights we fought and died for over a period of centuries.
Please remember what the world leaders of the time did when Nazism raised its ugly head they tried appeasment. We can't allow radical Islam to worm its way into our world through appeasement. It must be stopped dead in its tracks or we all will pay a very heavy price.
I support this petition. Having lived in a Muslim country I am embarrassed for all Muslims - they are hyprotical in their personal actions and public face. FOR SHAME
