Marijuana has been long known for it's medical applications for various cronic illness. I don't care about that. The only effect of marijuana that I'm interested in is the one where you've had a really crappy day at the office, and when you leave, all you want to do is smoke a joint. I've been diagnosed with ADHD and mild depression as a child. There is nothing better than just sitting down with your closest friends and burning a fattie. It's like the song says... "Enjoy the gift from the earth, cuz what's from the earths of the greatest worth. So before you knock it, try it first, you'll see it's a blessing and not a curse." Apparently Ben Harper enjoys it, I don't see why we can't enjoy without having to worry about criminal charges. If you think about it, pot-heads are responsible for some of the greatest technological advancements of the modern era. Marijuana encourages abstract thought, which is why it's a preffered drug amongst artist and scientists. It also encourages mellowness, peace and happiness. People who smoke it tend to relax, keep to themselves and mind their own business (unlike alcohol). Read up about it, the only way to make your decision is to keep informed. (And i don't mean from the American Government, you know, the same government who created "Reefer Madness", fed LSD to the homeless in mind control experiments, gave radioactive material to retarded children to see what would happen and has been at a state of emergency for almost the past 80 consecutive years). But that's a whole other petition.

I support this petition. Something i just want to say to all those who reject this petition>>> Marijuana doesnt do anything wrong ANYTHING! wrong to your body...ppl seem to think if you smoke marijuana you become stupid or brain dead...NO!!!...it depends how you use it with your mind...example>>if you smoke marijuana and sit on a couch all day YES! you will become stupid just like if you were a anti freak...BUT!> if you smoke it and put your mind to use...omg ppl can do so much good...and the reason why ppl become lazy and brain dead is because of it being a criminal offense...listen>>if it was not a criminal offense then ppl wouldnt be affraid to be high in public and so paranoid (hint)>> they would use their minds properly...but if legalizing or de-criminalizing doesnt work then canada will continue to have this big paranoid problem and yes ppl will become stupid because they cant go out and use their mind...and ppl will still continue to be trown in jail for smoking a joint! OMG CANADA open your eyes and forget about the whole usa border threats!

Im an Aussie and here in Australia we have the same problem, mindless beaurocrats telling us wot we can and cant do!! People automatically associate pot with all the harder drugs, they think a drug is a drug, but the government sanctions and encourages people to buy products from the liquor and tobacco industries so they can make big money out of it! Doesnt matter about the billions that governments spend on correcting health issues associated with alcohol and smoking, there is always a justification for whatever governments want to do. I have seen people go crazy on alcohol, I was even assaulted and had my house smashed up by a relative who went on a alcohol binge. I havent seen many pot heads do this, not one actually. As far as I am concerned, I will do what I want irrelevant of any laws, some nob in the government is not going to tell me what I can and cant do, how to live my life. I accept all risks (if any) from using pot, I am a big girl!!! I think they should use their "minds" to take care of bigger problems and get off the backs of people who sit in their own house, by themselves or with friends who like to do the same, voluntarily and dont annoy or inconvenience anyone else. Maybe when their is enough incentive for the governments of the world, they will stop this bullshit and get a life.
