Goal Met!
On November 13th, 2004 Lance Cprl. Justin M. Ellsworth, 20, was killed while on foot patrol in Iraq. His family, now in mourning, is asking that Internet media company Yahoo! Provide them with access to Justin’s email account. In the words of Justin’s father John Ellsworth “I want to be able to remember him in his words. I know he thought he was doing what he needed to do. I want to have that for the future.”

Yahoo! Quoting its privacy policy refuses to give the family access to the email account even under these circumstances. If the account isn’t logged into for 90 days, all emails will be deleted and the account deactivated.

We the undersigned petition Yahoo! to give access to Justin’s email account to his family so they can have something of Justin’s last days for safe keeping. It just isn’t right that the family can’t have access to their son’s email account. This young man served our country and died defending it. Yahoo, every now and then you need to learn to bend a little.

This is terrible that yahoo is even considering denying his parents access. In the future, yahoo can instill a "next of kin" for rights, if they want, but without one, thsi is hurtful and mean. have some heart!

I Petition Yahoo to allow Justin's family to have access to their son's e-mail. I respect and understand Yahoo's policy regarding privacy, but in this case they should make an exception and allow access. Thank you

Please give the family the opportunity to view their son's last thoughts. It would mean alot to them and everyone else. Do your patriotic duty and support our troops.
