I can't believe they used self defense. Shooting a gun in a car of innocent people is in no way self defense. No matter what exchanges were made between the two this young man must realize he made a bad choice and must pay for it. He needs sometime in jail to think about it...
Unbelievable act that this man committed to this beautiful, innocent, sweet baby. If only he would have the heart to put himself in the parents shoes. How would he feel?
This is such a terribly sad situation, being the mother of four children myself, I feel that Mr. Walsh should be locked up for the rest of his natural life. At least his mother can visit him in prison, but Felecia will have to go to a cold cemetary to visit her child. God knows the intent of every heart.

This is awful the way that our judicial system will allow this man to go around and think that he has done on wrong. Yes I feel that this young girls father had a responsiblity to protect his daughter, however Mr. walsh had a responsibility to not take the law in his own hand. Mr. Walsh's brother could have been calling 911 during the same time that he was calling his brother. Please do not allow this young man to feel that he is a free man because God will hold him accountable to him for what he did just as God will hold Marishka's father accountable for what he did.
I agree with the prosecuter's office, "Marishka deserved to grow up and live." It's a shame that our society places so little value of the lives of black children and youth. My prayers are with the Lovett family who have lost a precious jewel.
I am so dissapointed in the American Judicial System, when a innocent child is shot down and her death is brushed under the judicial rug. If this child would have been white, not only would her predator been convicted, he would have probably received a life sentence. We as a community must take action to right this wrong.
Where is justice when you need it? For we do know that it is no justice in the Lovett/Walsh case. However, knowing that there is another justment to come and it being from the higher power in Jesus Christ there will be justice in the final outcome. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Lovett Family. Family know that your strength is in the Lord, He will continue to carry you for justice will prevail. It seems so unfair right now, but God will work it out for your good. The Walsh Family is smiling right now, but Lovett Family know that joy cometh in the morning because there is another judge.
I am Marishka's Aunt and I just want everyone to know that she didn't choose to end her life, Joshua Walsh did when he took the law into his own hands. He deserves to be punished. What happened to the 10/20/life law. Justice was not served and the question is whose side is the law on?
I think that this was a very unjust action,and if the situation had been reversed the outcome would not have beenthe same,what happened to Florida's ten twenty life pollisy and not to mention this is a child that were refering to

As a friend of the Lovett Family, I would like to encourage everyone to forward this petition to every media outlet, friend, co-worker, law maker and family member possible in hopes that someone will hear our cry and have this verdict overturned. Where is the justice when a man can come to the scene of a situation that did NOT involve him, kill a 5 year old, attempt to kill two others, get off, sell everything in his name, move to another city and start a new life while the Lovett Family grieve in loss of their only child? This is not Justice, this man fired a gun into an occupied vehicle killing an innocent child, shooting the grandmothers finger off and injuring the driver knowing that there were lives in the vehicle if this not murder then what is. Marishka was a part of my family. Her mother and I are best friends. These 2 1/2 years have really been hard for her family and it is very sad to watch something like this happen to ANYONE. To this day, the Walsh's still have not apologized to the Lovett family. Now how hard is that. Nothing will ever bring "Rishka" back to us and her parents will never get to see her grow to the beautiful young lady she was destin to be. Justice will be served on the final judgement day. There really isn't much to comment on. It is a crying shame that this girl will not grow up to be a beautiful woman. Justice does need to be served and everyone should pay for their crimes.
Another example of unequal justice in this society in which we live. How they could live with themselves, I don't know. He was not defending himself. It was not a fair decision, but God said vengeance is his, and he will repay: Remember that.
