Please release this film in an anamorphic, full restored OAR version with insightful commentaries and both vintage and new extras, please and thanks. English subtitles a must for me, I'm afraid, but I'll buy! O, I'll buy!
'Marketa Lazarová''s tender savageness (or vice versa) has been the stuff of legend, and its indelible ephemerality, still presently, the stuff of rhetoric -- which is to say, a description of both the power of the film's images (which are after all only the extension of a profound poetic consciousness) and, sadly, the situation surrounding the availability of the film to a world audience. Has the time come finally wherein we can view Vlácil's work, and judge its masterpiece-status for ourselves? 373 movie lovers say: "Let us see this film."
I'll just go along with whatever and say bring this movie on to DVD even though I have no idea what it is about because I can't read Russian. We need fresh ideas over here in the states.

In this day of senseless war and pointless deaths, art becomes more valuable and necessary with each passing day. It is through art that we can begin to understand the differences and, more importantly, similarities in ourselves and others regardless of the language or the country. Art is more than important, it is a necessity.
I have seen this masterpiece years ago in the Cinemateca of Barcelona. This great film needs urgently a decent edition in DVD with different languages subtitles so that it can be watched and be admired worldwide.

Markéta je vskutku klenot, jehož vydání by mělo být prestižní vydavatelskou záležitostí ..... přesto (nebo snad právě proto?) zároveň díky všem iniciátorům za nápad tímto svého druhu "lidovým hlasováním" podpořit skvělou věc. Doufám, že nás bude dost!
S příchodem nových technologií a pro zahraniční publikum je vskutku žádoucí tento klenot důstojně vydat na nosičích DVD. Dost bylo ušmudlaných a seříznutých záznamů na VHS... Věřím, že se investice bohatě vyplatí.
Přimlouval bych se ovšem za kvalitní vydání s titulky v několika jazycích, ukázkami Vláčilových poznámek, kreseb, návrhů kostýmů apod.Je toho celá řada.
