The funny part? In Massachusetts they are getting rid of domestic partner benefits no w that gays can marry. But those domestic partner benefits were used by hetero couples, too. So now many hets are getting married, thanks to gay marriage. this is contrary to the notion that gay marriage will hurt hetero marriage.

I thought god was supposed to love everyone. If he did dislike people it would be the people who discriminate.

This is working well i see. I vote we ban ultraconservative right wing religious zealots. Or make them have mad monkey sex with each other while we taunt them about their small penises. Yeah, that'll solve something! Not. P.S. your daughter doesn't have a problem with guy/guy/girl threesomes, but that's technically not "gay" is it?

My argument has been to ask people to simply look beyond the face value of the homosexual activists position. What are the ramifications going to be for granting them success in redefining marriage? Look beyond the touchy-feely "it's all about love" image and discuss the realities of this lifestyle, whether it is chosen or not. Do we as a nation really want to start teaching our children that marriage and family is only about access, inheritance, and tax breaks? I want you to ask yourself "What was the purpose behind the creation of marriage?" I believe that the answer to this question is "To provide a safe and productive environment for the raising of children and the productive growth of the community in which we live". How does homosexual marriage contribute to this purpose? As parents we try to live as an example to our children, showing them how a husband should behave towards his wife and a wife towards her husband, how to grow into responsible adults, how to discern what is good vs bad. The media on the other hand is constantly marketing sex and violence, desensitizing people to these activities, and removing the aspects of either responsibility or accountability for doing the things are wrong. How is the government sanction of homosexual marriage going to make the job of parenting easier? As adults it is one thing to avoid the decisions that we will later regret, but as children (who are supposed to respect and trust their elders) and teenagers (who are already living through a time of moral and hormonal confusion), portraying the homosexual lifestyle as fashionable alternative only makes the challenges of growing up significantly more difficult. Parading the homosexual lifestyle before America's youth and portraying it as being perfectly OK and an alternative equivalent to the heterosexual lifestyle is like trying to put out a fire with gasoline

Sorry I have to repeat this but you keep talking without though then I will keep thinking AND talking. 1.During the hearing of "racial hygiene" it was declaired by the supreme court that marriage is "essential to the orderly pursuit of happiness by a free people" 2. "Marriage" and "family" are not very traditional at all. For instance, Abraham and Sarah were half-siblings, sharing a father. Only the upper one-third of empire Romans had the legal right to marry; everyone else lived together outside the law. For its first five hundred to a thousand years, the early Christian church considered marriage a tainted, earthly institution and didn't officially declare marriage a sacrament until 1215. In English and American law, women were considered property and did not have the right to be their children's guardians until will into 19th century. While American states were battling for nearly 150 years over whether to recognize each others' divorces, Protestant denominations were roiled by the question of whether it was sinful to remarry divorced people whose ex-spouses were still alive. Marriage has always been a social battleground, its rules and borders shifting constantly. 3. It's not the government's job to sanction heterosexuality or homosexuality. Nor is it in a position to judge the marriages of its citizens. Once the government starts doing this, where does it stop? Taxpayers are forced to pay for things that they are opposed to or are offended by. For instance, some do not support military force but still must pay into the military's budget. People disagree with sex education in schools and are still forced to finance it. People opposed to the death penalty are paying for the leathal injection. It's not the government's job to tap dance around the religious concerns of Americans; it is the government's job to enforce the constitution. The Constitution says everyone gets equal trea
