History has created many marriage laws that are now not looked at or abolished because down the road they were looked at as foolish. The same will happen to any ban on gay marriage. There used to be laws against interacial marriage, those are either gone or no longer in effect. Is it really that big of a deal to let gays marry. They are the ones who have to deal with the sneers and hatred, so since it doesn't affect the general public what will it hurt? Let gays marry, I'm not saying to give them your blessing or attend the service. I'm not saying that it has to be in a church. Remember that concept of separation of church and state? Well leave the Bible out of it and let's read the Constitution: In the Preamble of the Constitution it says: "We the people (not just the straight people) of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union (as in all people together both straights and gays), establish justice (for all people), insure domestic tranquility (domestic as in home, both personal and national), provide for the common defense, promote general welfare(protecting everyone), and secure the blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity(Blessings of Libery: life, liberty and pursuit of happiness), do ordain and establish this Constitution of the United States of America." Our founding fathers didn't seem too concerned with gay marriage.
