I am in support of no mascot since Steeler fans are more animated, supportive, dedicated and loyal than any mascot could possibly be!!! Just the name STEELERS (a.k.a. Pirates 1933-40)brings to mind a constantly evolving dynasty of outstanding players who have ultimately represented Pittsburgh and its fans every step of the way for 74 years , something no mascot could even begin to symbolize.

The original purpose of cheerleaders and mascots was to entertain people who would not otherwise be interested in football. Some cities did not have highschool or college football traditions so they needed gimmicks. Steeler fans do not need gimmicks.
