I am just lost for words. There is no reason in god's green earth that Steeler's need a mascot. Steeler Nation already has fun at the games without him so there is no need to be a laughing stock in NFL. Keep the mascot for the team's who can't get fans in the seats. Steelers never had a problem filling Heinz Field. LET'S GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!
The Steelers don't need a mascot. But the Powers That Be decided we needed one. But then they made it look stupid. And then, out of 70,000 entries they pick this stupid name? Come on. The Rooneys used to run a supposedly classy organization.
Get rid of the mascot all together in 75 years we have never had one why start now. And Steely McBeam is by far the stupidest name every, sounds like someone watched too much Gray's Anatomy
As a Steeler fan, I am embarrassed by this. It sounds like a 15 yr old named it. It doesn't sound tough, and toughness is what Steelers football is about. No offense to whoever named this, but somebody deserves a kick in the ass for thinking this was a good name.
