Lyrically, both suck. I haven't heard many lyrics I would consider to be great although I would say Bob Dylan and various underground rap artists have some great lyrical content. However, in the case of rap, the music doesn't measure up for it to be enjoyable. Musically, I find Oasis' music to be very simplistic and repetitive. Metallica have slightly more complex music but is still very simplistic and repetitive. I find Metallica very immature in their lyrics and their sounds. Oasis have made a career out of ripping off the Beatles. I'm surprised you forgot Oasis' strongest arguement for it, the vocals. The vocals from Oasis are far superior to that of Metallica.
