I can't believe the government of my country is so blind to current events and so ignorant of history. As I await evacuation in Lebanon, I can see the vast humanitarian crisis building around me, the despair of the people and how they just want to be left alone and live in peace with their neighbors. How could the gov't of my country align itself so closely with the U.S when their representative to the U.N. John Bolton says that the ONLY people being killed in Lebanon are "terrorists"? The vast majority of people killed and injured this past week are innocent children, crushed inside their houses from the impact of bobmbs dropped by Israel. Shame on you, Mr. Harper. You are not MY Prime Minister.
Because i believe that Canada is bigger than this and I dont think killing innocent children and people is right. MR. HARPER SHOW CANADA WHO YOU REALLY ARE !!!!!!!
Mr Harper, I note from Vancouver that Chinese Italian, Israeli,Irish, Brits etc, visit their original homeland during their vacations. They are all Canadians. Pointing the finger at Lebanese is racist and should not be allowed.
Canadians cannot stand by and let this happen. Mr. Harper, you have to stand up against Israel’s crimes of terror. We cannot be a people noted for hypocrisy.

Carpet bombing a country who has fought hard to be a democracy back to the 18th C. is hardly "measured". This is cruel and terrorism. Harper makes me sick and has no right with a minority to take our foreign policy to darkness and barbarism. Where have our enlightened European roots gone?? Harper misrepresents Canadian values and is representing his own religious and personal viewpoints only.
I do not understand how one man, Stephen Harper can undo Canada's international reputation with a minority government. I am ashamed by the leadership in this country.
Mr.Harper, you were not elected as PM to do as YOU and YOUR party choose without the consent of the people, but to administer and uphold the rights, peace and freedom of ALL Canadians. This includes the Charter of Human Rights, yet clearly this is being violated and our reputation as an independant peacemaking country, who lies not in the shadow of the US gov't administration, has been marred. In comparison, a money scandal is a welcome change Mr.Harper, at least atrocities and murder are not being committed nor supported. Think about it Mr.Harper, fear only breeds fear and paranoia. It is important to be constructive. You can help by listening to the Lebanese, especially the Lebanese Christians, and coming up with something positive for Canada to offer.
For Stephen Harper to unequivocally support Israel in it's destruction of Lebanon indicates either blind ignorance or Canada's desire to align itself with the USA. Either way it's scary. Stephen Harper's government in no way reflects my values.
