i am disgusted by the israeli response to the kidnappings of two soldiers. if attacking another country is a legitimate response for getting abducted civilizans returned, then wasn't hezbollah's action legitimate? by israel's logic, hezbollah acted in "self-defense." are you aware of the thousands of "prisoners," lebanese and palestinian, rotting in israeli jails under administrative detention? in prison, in some cases, for over 20 years without charge or trial? aren't these people "abducted civilians?"
I have to believe that Harper and Peter Mackay can be jolted to recognize their membership in the human race, and to recognize that the stakes we currently face in terms of broadening conflict affecting us all must trumpt both their pride and their almost comical last of understanding of world affairs and politics.
