As a Canadian I perceive my country as being opposed to violence in all its forms.
Please make the right steps in order to stop the murder of innocent civilians in Lebanon.
I support this petition because what israel doing in Lebanon is barbaric and totally against humanity. And Harper’s support to such an act is a big shame.
Just to tell Harper that we, Canadian never been proud of you. You’ve embarrassed Canada and Canadian since you came to POWER. Also tell Harper that you are playing a dangerous game and there is no gain on any game. It seems that you don’t have much of politic experience. I suuport this petition because I believe and based on all facts that Isreal is a terrorsit state and it is committing war crimes against humanity where innocent civilians,children and elderly in Lebanon and palestine are targeted and killed deliberatly, by siding with Israel, Mr. Harper and his conservative government is assisting Isreal in these war crimes. Mr Harper is shifting the Canadian Policy from its traditional peace making to a new culture of War sharing and support. As a Canadian I am very concerned and worried about where Mr. harper is taking this country.

Mr. Harper -you and your Defense Minister perhaps do not know that the initial wrong inflicted on the Palestinians by the Belfore Declaration(of 1948) has set the stage for an everlasting conflict in the Middle East.You should strive to set the record straight -and not support the interlopers(the Jews) who were thrust into Palestinian lands by the British WITHOUT consulting with the Palestinians first.How would YOU feel if the United States were to unilaterally decide to settle the Mexicans on the Canadian soil without consulting the Canadians first?
Peace is the only viable solution. We have never see war bring any good. Canada cannot call itself a peacekeepr and take sides. We have both Israeli and Lebanese people on our soil. Both have committed acts of violence. All people have a right to live in peace and security. If not resolved now, this Isareli-Pelstinian situation could easily escalate into decades of international war, China, Russia and the Arab nations backing Palestine, vs US backed Israel - with expensive weaponry on both sides. I sincerely hope Canada stands for principals of peace, and hope Canada stays out of this quagmire.
Any democratic country that has respect for human rights should not extend support to an aggressor like Israel. Killing children and innocent civilians is not the way to bring peace in the Middle East. Canada has an important role to play in the current crisis rather than siding with the Bush administration.
It is a shame for every Canadian to see that our country that is proud of being an advocate of human rights is following the foot steps of G.W. Bush that is the leader of violation of all international laws. I am not proud to have Harper as our Prime Minister.
