I know that we, the common people do not understand politics, and that whatever you politicians say is not true. I am just curious, how can people live in such a conscience? Just imagine, the kids dying in Lebanon or anywhere in the world are one of your kids... how does that feel?
I am saddened by your support as Prime Minister of my country for a bombing campaign against civilians. How could you do that? Now we will become targets too.
I am completely disgusted with your (Harper's) position on the present situation in the Middle East. Canadians will not forget this soon and I look forward to working my butt off throwing you and your government out of power when the opportunity arises!
this is not about israel defending itself...this is about an invasion and the death and injury of 100's if not 1000's of innocents leverage on the dissappearance of two soldiers - people trained to kill and by entering the military, embracing the risks of that profession
Having just visited Lebanon in April of this year, I can say that I am truly ashamed of the stance my govt has taken on Israel's current campaign of terror against the Lebanese people.
I am sickened by the extreme racism and material support of Western governments such as the U.S. and Canadian ones for Israel that enables and encourages its criminal and murderous attack on Lebanon.
Sir Mister Harper: I'm really saddened and hurt by what you have said at the beginning of this crazy war. I'm also struck and shocked by seeing you in the tenth day of an unjustified destruction of an entire country that you turned to a silent person. Please feel the responsibility that this country is relying on you to hold. Please don't blindly follow those who turned the world to a disaster by followung a suspecious agenda. Please read the history from unbiased sources and finally, please pay a visit to the Middle East and give yourself a chance to be educated away from the media.
Please help Canada to remain as a peaceful country and Please don't ruin the Canadian dream.
Thank you.
We teach our children to solve problems in a non-violent manner. Why can we not expect the same from grown men? and its mostly men perpetuating this madness.
Mr. Harper's unabashed choice of becoming an advocate of Israeli expansionism is untenable for a Canadian Prime Minister. Who gave him the mandate to change Canada's erstwhile and glorious tradition of an honest broker in disputes between opposing sides. he has thrown that legacy, built over generations, to the winds with his callous disregard of what this great country has stood for, until he came on the scene. All Canadians are compelled to hang their heads in shame because of his partisanship of a brutal Israeli aggression against innocent Lebanese civilians.
As PM, Mr Haper has the obligation to act in accordance with Canadian values. We are a country with a tradition of respecting international law which unequivocally condemns collective punishment, disproportionate response, targeting civilans and targeting civilian infrastructure. Mr Harper should be reminded that as PM, he should set his personal views aside and act based on Canadian values.
I support this petition. I feel sorry as Canadian for Mr. Harper's opinion, it dose not represent the Canadians' opinion. It is just his and only his and some few racist minorities not the majority of Canadian. I doubt very much if the conservative will last long with this stand.
There is no excuse for condemning one violence while actively supporting another. Israel is engaging in a policy of aggression which is directly counter to Canada's traditionally peaceful policies. The Canadian government has no business supporting this war.
I do so in honour of the 300 Lebanese civilians who have perished needlessly, including Ali El-Akhras, a Montreal pharmacist who was wounded and subsequently died as the result of the Israeli bombardment that also killed his four children, wife, mother and uncle. How dare you dismiss these atrocious murders as collateral damage. Shame on you.
