We are of the opinion that marijuana used medicinally to ease the pain of the ill, should be legalized on the federal level. Marijuana
when prescribed by a doctor or other qualified medical physicians should be condoned by the government of the United States of America.

In order to achieve this objective, progress must be made on several fronts. Many agencies and organizations in the federal government must
change their stances on the issue of medical marijuana. Among these are the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Drug Enforcement Agency
(DEA), and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

When approving new prescription drugs, the FDA requires concrete scientific evidence in proof of safety and effectiveness in order to allow the distribution to the general public. Therefore one of our main aims is to fund and then conduct a broad study confirming the benefits of medical marijuana. "The evidence is overwhelming that marijuana can relieve certain types of pain, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms caused by such illnesses as multiple sclerosis, cancer and AIDS -- or by the harsh
drugs sometimes used to treat them. And it can do so with remarkable safety. Indeed, marijuana is less toxic than many of the drugs that physicians prescribe every day."

In conclusion we feel that the Medicinal Marijuana is a key reliever for people living with debilitating diseases. It is up to you to come and fight for it! If you were in horrible pain, wouldn't you like to subdue it?

I support this petition. and I support FREEDOM. and the right to choose. If people can kill themselves with tobacco and alcohol, then why not pot???? Besides it is scientifically proven to be far less harmful to the user and society than either tobacco or alcohol. The economical potential in America is just jaw dropping. Rob Kampia of the Marijuana Policy Project conducted a study in 2008 and using only government figures, came to the conclusion that Marijuana was Americas largest cash crop in 08. A potential 35 BILLION dollar industry right here in America. These figures cant be ignored any longer, we must stand as a whole and point the finger at our federal government and say (in the words of Twisted Sister) \"WE\'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE!\" Please, if you support the legalization of marijuana, don\'t be ashamed, take action!!! Spread the knowledge!!! and together we WILL LEGALIZE.

Our Government does not care about THE GOOD OF THE PEOPLE. Over a century ago it was the most used medicinal herb for many illness and it worked for thousands of people for years and years... and WITHOUT HARMFUL SIDE EFFECTS or internal damage from synthetic drugs like they have now. If they did make it legal, we'd be using marijuana for FUEL, medicine, clothing, food, building material and so much more.. They (government) cannot make money off of cannibus if it's legal, because they cannot TAX God given herbs. (not that they don't try) But they make a fortune off of the herb by keeping it illegal... Bottom line.. It is GOVERNMENT GREED... Not the Weed..

Revised Comment Marijuana should be used for medical purposes only. It will help all those people who are suffering and are in need of a cure.
