Your ridiculous decision to file Melanie Martinez is appauling. How is anything she did prior to this show even remotely relevant? Has everyone lost their minds?
I am sad to see PBS, an otherwise open and forward-thinking organization take this stance against a wonderful, caring, funny, kind-hearted and talented individual like Melanie. I challenge you to show any proof that her involvement with TechnicalVirgin.com or anything she's done in her past has affected her work on THE GOOD NIGHT SHOW. I challenge you to put the decision to the people whose kids watch the show, or at least ask them what they want. Shame on you, PBS, for so callously getting rid of such a valuable, talented and supportive member of your team.
Our son has watched her since he was born. He waits each night to see her. Just because PBS is uptight don't take it out on the kids. What about freedom of expression "public" broadcasting?
I agree somthing that was done 7 years ago when she was younger should not be held against her as the person she is today... Bring her back for our children
I am not yet a parent, but still I've got to comment on this farce. There's nothing wrong with protecting children from mature jokes. But it's not like Melanie talked about anal sex ON THE SHOW. The clip was never meant for the eyes of children.
So please, come to your senses.
As a father of an 18 month old who watched the good night show, I find it ridiculous for PBS to think one has anything to do with the other. I know my son is not on the internet looking up COMEDY sketches. nor would anyone have ever relized or cared that she did that, except for some group that has nothing real to care about so they just pretend they are overly offended by everything that happens in their life. my family will not be watching Sprout until she gets her job back. Thank You
I used to laugh at the clip in question all the time a few years ago. It's a peice of comedy, that's all it is. It is absolutely ridiculous that this is coming back to haunt her. Please, PBS, I DARE you to interview every single person that works for you to see if they've ever made one dirty joke, or was otherwise lewd at some point in their life. This is ridiculous, and would never have effected any children.
My wife and I were casually discussing this when my 4-year-old said, 'What happened to Melanie?' I didn't even know that she cared, but I am now sure that a lot of kids miss her already. Bring her back.
