I support this petition because no 2-5 year old has any capacity of what those videos mean or would even see them-- how would this affect them? The only reason those videos are a problem is the fact that most people are too confused about sex and sexuality-- pbs is too uptight about human sexuality and therefore they have to get rid of it.

My son cried when he heard Melanie would no longer be hosting The Goodnight Show. II am glad that I don't have to account for mistakes I made seven years ago. Even bad credit gets cleared after seven years. Ms. Martinez deserves to have her job back.
I only have to look to Sesame Street to find actors who regularly appear on television shows that are PG13 -- mostly Law and Order but others as well. Why is Maria still on Sesame Street? She has played characters apart from Sesame Street that are not in line with her character. In addition, Chuck Aber from Mr. Rogers was in these films while also filming Mr Rogers Neighborhood:

Mrs. Martinez should not have been fired for doing a video that was getting young ladies to respect themselves. As a Parent you should not have been so harsh to send Melanie Martinez packing as she is a very very very good hostess and made my child watch with gleam everytime she came on. I have to admit she even got to me and I miss her. So PBS sprout bring her back and you will find that about 99% of the parents that watch your show will be glad you hired her back.

The firing of Melanie Martinez is quite ridiculous considering that most PBS heads are, let's say, "liberal minded". So what if Melanie Martinez appeared in this video. Melanie's an actress, that's what she does. It wasn't as if she appeared nude or performed acts of a sexual nature.
My children have fallen in love Melanie. One of my oldest son's first words was "Melanie". If that isn't impressive enough, something about her seems to grab their attention even when some of the shows on the "Goodnight Show" do not. We haven't watched the show all week.
As a parent I see nothing wrong with Melanie Martinez's past decision to appear in the technicalvirgin.com video. Furthermore I think that PBS is making a ridiculous mistake firing an actress that obviously has a tremendous talent for connecting with children of all ages.

PBS has made a mistake and underestimated the intelligence of it's audience. Perhaps every member of PBS management who has ever seen an R rated film should be fired. Maybe anyone on their staff who has ever had a relationship outside of marriage should be fired. Or Maybe they should stick to entertaining and leave morality to the individual.
My four-year-old son, Zack absolutely LOVES Melanie. He says she is pretty. Who cares if she did a video for a web site that is no longer in operation. There is no way my preschooler would ever have access to an inappropriatte video, especially if the website is defunct. He has no clue what this is about, only that his beloved Melanie is gone. He won't stop crying. PLEASE bring Melanie back. We love her!!

OMG! my daughter and i counted on Melanie to get to bed every night! my daughter is deaf and the very sight of melanie made her smile and relax!
I DO NOT CARE about what she does out side of Sprout...my daughter as well as the younger kids that Sprout targets are not old enough to view this site..shouldnt hear about it from proper parents... and wouldnt cross reference the two IF they ever found out about it..and IF she did, she would be old enough to know...and not care.. its not a damaging to a 2 yr old thing!!!!

my 17 months old daughter and i watch the good night show every night and i think Melanie deserves her spot back on the show cause we always enjoyed playing games like statue with her and playing pretend as well.my little girl also knows melanie by saying mel and now when she watches it she will not be their she was also being a role model for teens.
