My son is only 9 months old. Every time he hears Melanie's voice his eyes light up and he gets excited. He loves to see her on television and watching her used to be part of his bedtime ritual until she just disappeared all of a sudden. The kids who watch The Goodnight Show are not old enough to have ever seen or even know what her short videos were about. In fact as a parent I had never even seen her before until we started watching Sprout. I think the whole ordeal has been blown way out of proportion and a lot of kids are disappointed that she is no longer on air. Please bring her back. Thank you.
I support this petetion because i believe as a professiol actress, she deserve to choose whatever role she wants. Two 30 sec. videos shouldnt decide whether or not she has a job seven years later.
Furthermore, George Carlin, Alec Baldwin, and Ringo Starr (though excellent in their roles) may not be the best role models for a two-y.o. I have no problem with them on these shows either as a small child is unlikely to see/hear anything inappropriate from their pasts.

Melanie made a mistake over seven years ago. You and I did some things we are not proud of, but it did not cost us our jobs. Please reconsider, Melanie is a terrific role model for our children.
How can some satirical works meant for a mature audience have anything to do with a show for children? Eddie Murphy was the dirtiest comic around, but later he made movies like "Doctor Doolittle". There is no connection between this woman's previous work and her recent work for children. Firing her is ridiculous!
This decision made my son cry...he will not see these videos as they are for older individuals, so as a result, I do not feel that they adversely affect Melanie's ability to do her job which made my preschool child happy!
I don't see how these videos can, in any way, impact Melanie's credibility. I don't see the target demographic of the show finding these videos online. Firing her was truly a bad, implusive dicision.
I have a 5 y/o daughter that loves watching Melanie Martinez. I feel its irresponsible to take such action against her. Specially if she is not portraying anything inappropriate on PBS.
My daughter is still upset that she can't do the dances and enjoy the crafts Melanie did!! It's really unfair to Melanie the reason behind her dismissal!! What child is going to be exposed the the film!! These are children that watch this show!!!
I enjoy an learn lots from PBS broadcasts. Until know I admired its decision and dedication in airing unbiased and informative programs that offer views that are apart from mainstream t.v. Makes me rethink future donations. I don't even like Carlin; never did!
