Hey PBS Bring Back Melanie, We ALL make mistakes at one point or another. I know one of you has something they have done & are ashamed of it, Actor sometimes do what they need to do to survive, GET OVER IT!!! Melanie was the BEST thing that happened to your station, I see you guys begging for alot more money or Donations as you call it this year....Good Luck in losing all your viewers & donations(hahaha) !!! Completely assanine from a liberal institution such as PBS. I thought at least 90% of the PBS staff practice same sex anal sex anyways. Seem very "double standard" to me. lMAO
My boys are constantly asking where is Melanie. I told them she was fired. They are 4 and 3. My husband thinks its awful that the President of the USA can actually lie and perform sexual acts outside of Marriage and have nothing happen. someone(melanie) who came to you and told you about the Video was fired and held on a higher level than the president. She did not perform sexual acts. She gave an opinion. You do not have to agree with her but she has that freedom to do as she pleases outside of her contract. The video was before her contract and I am sure was in her past. I understand the question Is there anything in your past that may look bad for us? No. You teach kids...she was teaching Pre teens and teens...opposite directions in life....I hope she does well in life and I wish she were back on Sprout! She had energy.
Any child who watches this program isn't old enough to see or hear about these "Technical virgin" videos! Who are you concerned about? The kids or the parents...obviously NOT the kids who don't understand and just want Melanie back. As a parent of two toddlers...I think this is ridiculous!
I do not see what the problem is here. I dont care what she did in the past it is what she is doing now that is important. She is entertaining to the children and there is not much pre-school shows that is age appropriate on in todays time.
Even Barbra Streisand did a porn...something Melanie did 7 yrs ago should not justify her being fired. I am sure the staff and high management at PBS have skeletons in their closet.
because, she is AN ACTRESS. Now if it was a paris hilton type sex video, but this was a job! If you will not bring her back then please get some adult on that show that will explain to my kids where she went. Maybe you could get George Carlin, Alec Baldwin and Dr. Ruth to explain it to them. Better yet let one of the decision makers tell them. My kids would never have know about this but now that she is gone, I have to explain it to them somehow.
My son looks for Melanie everyday. He really liked watching her more than some of the cartoons that played. He has now started watching Noggin and does not want to watch Sprout.
what kid would have ever even noticed these videos. the only people who saw this were some uptight righteuos losers. give it a break and bring her back
This kink of knee-jerk reaction is typical of network TV and even some cable, but should not be the case for PBS. I realize that Sprout is a cable channel and not exaclty supported the same way that the local PBS station is, but the name is the same and the values should match. The only big brother my son should have to deal with is of my making, not Sprout's.
This goes against everything PBS has taught our children for decades. Perhaps the executives should watch some of their own programming about forgiveness, and judging people prematurely.

This is outrageous. How do you explain to a child why a beloved character has suddenly disappeared? Do not hold an incident from the past against Ms. Martinez. If we did that ... very few of us would have jobs today.
