Silent Boycott the MetroBears of NYC!!
Just don't go to their activities!!

The MetroBears Board of Directors commit acts of discrimination and choose to be unaccountable. For example.

1. They refuse to host an open, Democratic election for the Board.
This is contrary to the club's By-Laws.
2. They refuse to listen and enact the concerns of the membership.
They only take in ideas and enact ideas from the Board
3. They are bar-focused and, even after committing to the membership
that they would not be so bar-focused, they still focus their
activities around the bar scene. This ignores the members who
are in sobriety and/or are tired of the bar scene.
4. They revoke your membership if you disagree with them.
5. They revoke your membership if you attempt to run for a Board
seat with a platform that is not theirs.
6. They refuse to hold other Board members accountable when
they do not perform board functions.

These behaviors are contrary to our American values and what the same-sex community is striving for most espeically with same-sex marriage.

I ask that you join me in signing this petition and committing to NOT attend any of their functions.

Petition to boycott the MetroBears of NYC and to committ to NOT attending any of their activities until they no change their ways of doing business. This club discriminates against its members by:
1. Creating a stagnant enviornment by catering almost exclusively to
members that attend ONLY bar-related functions.
2. Only enact and take seriously ideas from their own board members.
3. Refuse to be accountable for their functions. They will leave a
function unattended for months and say to the membership
"we can't have accountability".
4. Revoke a membership if you criticize or challenge them.
5. Revoke a membership if you run for a board seat on a platform
that is different from theirs or criticizes theirs.
6. Refuses to host a democratic election and ONLY hosts elections
if they can CONTROL the outcome!!!!

Their concern is NOT the membership!!!
