Mike to me is a really good bassist who actually fullfill the role a bassist in the band very well... dun get me wrong i've been playing bass for quite a while and frm wad i c bassist such as geddy lee or even flea are just people who tries to show their talent too much until they neglect their band... This is a band performance not a fucking bass solo performance... Anybody who disagree then why dont u try recording and selling ur albums... If in any hell of a way u can reach just 1% of mike's album sales then speak.... If not i suggest u just shut the fuck up a go bash somebody else.... And u call yourself bassists... Mike Dirnt is defiantly the greatest!!!! He doesn't suck. But they are far better bassist out there. He will never add up to John Enwhistle and John Paul Jones.

No. You're completely wrong. Mike Dirnt has no skill, as I noticed a few people have also eluded to. He has not discernible technique while playing (he only uses a pick) and plays only eighth notes at fastest (I'm not positive, but definitely has a severe lack of speed in his playing). As for best bassist? Look towards Geddy Lee or Les Claypool. Now those are bassists. I'm not saying Greenday is terrible (granted, I don't like their music, and it takes no skill to play it), I'm just saying none of the members are great (mediocre, at best) musicians. Bone up on your stuff, and listen to some real music.

Ok, so anyone who thinks any member of Green Day is talented does not have any musical experience whatsoever. Who can seriously think that anyone in Green Day is any good. They all are very basic musicians, and Mike couldn't play anything in the vicinity of Les Claypool or Jaco Pastorius. He really is horrible, and I can't even fathom how anyone can think he's the best. JESUS CHRIST!!! He plays eighth notes nonstop and has no sense of groove. Damn...

He's a poor bassist, listen to Victor Wooten. And big shock horror, and band isn't based on looks.

I don't support this petition because Flea out of RCHP is a way better bassit than Mike, and so is Victor Wooten, he kicks both thier arses anyways.
