It has been 9 years since minimum wage has been increased. With inflation steadily going up, you would think that Congress would wish to allow the people of the United States to continue to survive and not drown in debt and overinflated bills.

I am doing ok thus far, but what about the single mothers and much less fortunate families living day to day on just minimum wage. How can they survive..how?!

To go even farther ..Restaurant and Banquet Beverage Servers are still getting paid $2.13 to $2.75 a hour. How can anyone survive on that, esp when IRS is taking 18% out of your taxes. The Governor in California saw a need and increased minimum wage from $5.15 to $7.15 with an additional increase to $7.50 in 2008. He did this on his own as Congress continues to vote "NO" on the increase. So we have 7 states that made an increase on their own to help their residents while the other 53 still suffer...hmm.
