my aunti lives in ocala but i come to visit and im 18 and i kno i would truly disappointed if when i visited i couldnt go out with here i dont drink but i love to dance and i dont think that is fair

My daughter Tami has been dancing for 16 yrs,if she were in your town and couldn't go out and enjoy the night with her boyfriend, she is only 20 yrs old ; therefore I'll sign this.If your worrying about the drug seen I don't blame you , keep in mind you have to be a Doctor to respectable deal with drugs.

honestly i think that if these people want to take that chance of drinking or whatever, they gonna do it regardless. Takin away their "safeplace" is jus gonna make them pissed off and they gonna do more of what they doin already. this jus isnt the way to approach the problem if its even that serious. this happens every where acrossed the world, why is Ocala any different?

This is a bunch of bull ****.Why cant we have a chance to go have a night out on the town and dance with our friends.Thats mainly what its all about, we just want to have a cool place to go out to to dance and mingle with our friends.Trying to enforce this rule is going to be tough to enforce because going to a club when you turn 18 is what eveyone is waiting for and takeing that away after waiting to get their for so long is going to cause a problem.

what you are asking is for all of young people to leave Ocala and spend their money elsewhere. If people start going to other cities at 18 to have fun why would they start staying in Ocala at 21? Ocala isn't the only place to have fun. The world is knocking. How can you be worried about underage drinking when Ocala has poor people?

At 18 you can sign legal documents, at 18 you can go to war, at 18 you can help choose the leader of the free world but you will not be allowed to go to night clubs in Ocala? Not everyone that frequent the clubs drink alcohol. Some go to dance and some to hangout with their buds. If they (the Council) are worried about underage drinking have them come up with a color coded bracelet law or something constructive that gives the "kids" a place that is fairly safe. Perhaps a non-alcoholic night club.

as the parent of a 21 and 18 yr old, i am once again dismayed at the ocala city council's decision making skills.... to take away a controlled enviroment from our kids and not offer any kind of alternitive is ludicrious. the banner's article mentions 38 arrests for alcohol related mistakes in this age bracket.nowhere does it mention if that is club related,county wide,city limits,or what.....what is the amount of alcohol related mistakes by the ages 21-30?how about my age group,40-45? if those numbers are the same or higher,then when do i get banned from nightclubs?i would think the police would rather be sitting in a 10 block area,watching for the problems as they happen,then drive all over the county breaking up party's that have popped up in places that may take forever to get to in an emergency situation. how many council members have been to o'malley's?or do they sit in the window of the melting pot and create their own judgement of this age group.how many have hired babysitters that are under the age of 18,with the illusion of a 13 yr old being responsible enough to save their childs life if needed. i think ocala has once again dropped the ball,and has once again slammed the door in the faces of our teens,without thought and research,and i would also lke to repeat.....GET THE NAMES OF THESE IDIOTS THAT VOTE IN THEIR OWN INTRESTS,AND MAKE SURE THEY WILL BE LOOKING FOR A JOB AFTER THE NEXT ELCTION.that's the only thing they seem to understand.

Well I am 25 and I have been going to clubs since I was 16.. Trouble is every where and not letting 18 y/o in the club is absurd... Kids can get drugs anywhere.. Also by not letting 18-20 is just going to cuase more people to make fake ids which will cause more crime..
