Established in 1968 by Coretta Scott King, The King Center is the official, living memorial dedicated to the advancement of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., leader of America’s greatest nonviolent movement for justice, equality and peace.

The King Center is now in jeopardy of being sold to the US Government for $30 million dollars.

We are facing a monumental moral and historical decision regarding Martin Luther King Jr., Coretta Scott King and their legacy.

Please do not allow the government (who many believe was responsible for the death of MLK Jr.) to become keepers of "THE DREAM".

Please sign this petition to show your support against the sale of the KING CENTER. Also, visit www.reclaimingthekinglegacy.com to find other ways to support this effort.

Camela Curtis is a pathological liar. If you come in contact with her avoid all business with her.

I support this petition because I feel that Coretta King worked very to make her dream (THE KING CENTER)a reality. Perhaps noone knows better than she how very hard her husband and or struggled with his actions and an inevitable outcome. Why sell something that is so precious to her memory of him. A man who without his strenghth and determination we may not have grown to the point that we are today. God puts on this earth few people for such actions. I feel that this will not be cherished in the hands of the government. They would no doubt put into place programs that will fatten the pockets of the pockets of Uncle Sam and making restrictions along the way. I see it becoming so almost becoming a place not for the masses but for those who have. I feel that if so many support the petition then more should become active supporting members of the King Center and in doing so make known the need for the implementation of such programs that will bring income to the center and also benefit those in need. It is true that the site does direct potential volunteers to a site if they wish to combat the triple evils but there needs to be a more active role played on the part of the King Center. This way I feel that they would get more public support. And would most likely be an organization that would be around for some time possibly with extensions in many cities. The center is a blessing the ultimate outcome would be blessed if more of god's will for "the people" became the focus.

I support this petition. Ditto Derrick Moore " I support this petition. Unfortunately, The King Center is in need of apprx $11 million of repairs and it seems as though not all the siblings are in agreement with "The Dream", but are about "The Cream". The King Center is like the rest of Auburn Ave, in a state of disfunction. Oh, but not not for long, Auburn Ave is on the way up in case you haven't noticed. Can you say Gentrification. Unfortunately, we don't see the value of something until we've given it away. Tis tis. Would you sell the legacy for peanuts?"
