I think that us 14 and 15 year olds have our number of work ours increased too. I mean 18 hours a week is nothing! We can't even work later then 7 p.m.!! I think the number of hours should increase. That's why most jobs won't hire 14-15 year olds, because they want people to work more then 3 hours on a school day.
I am 15 and have looked for a Saturday job everywhere but everyone I asked said to me we only take on 16 year olds because of insurance purposes what a load of cocanuts, I need money because my parents don't give me any and been a teen I NEED MONEY. Now there is supposed to be age discrimination laws wich are only so old people can work if they let us 15 year olds work they wouldnt need the oldies. There are less mature 19 year olds than me they drink smoke take drugs and get all the jobs. IT'S NOT FAIR.
I think we should be able to work because we are just as mature a a 16 year old some of us are probably more mature than them. I am tired of waiting till I'm 16 everyone needs money and just because we are under the legal standard dont mean we don't deserve a chance.

However, as someone who has looked at thousands of applications and resumes over the last 20 years, I can tell you that Ashley (posting 882) is the only one I would even interview. Just because we are 15 it does not mean that we are too stupid to work, i have met many 16 year olds, who have jobs, along with an IQ of a monkey, but just because they are 16 they can get a job and we can not, which is unjust.

Thats as true as anything we all work hard. I think that it is retarted that just because we're 15 we can't have a job. As a 15 year old, I don't see why there's gotta be a shitty law about not being able to work untill one is 16. This is bull s**t because by the time one is 15, we are already in High school, so we need money because we are supposed to start to become adults, but who cares about that, we just want money we can say came from our wallets, not from our parents' onto ours. Its so stupid where I live. It's a small dow, dead in the winter and in the summer its a huge tourist attraction, so thats the only time you can work. None of the grocery stores, subway, and little stores let you work unless you're 16. something needs to change!

Adults sre always telling kids to stay away from drugs, and to do good in school. If we are being influnced to do drugs, then a job would keep us preoccupied, were we wouldn't have the chance to do anything dumb. Getting a job would teach us responsibility, and wouldn't that help us in the future?? Parents try to teach their kids things, but some times kids won't learn unless they learn from experiance.

I belivee anyone that has the physical ability to carry out the requirements of the job while being mature enough to handle all the stress of the occuupation should be employed.
A EIQ test (or another emotional level based test) would be more suiting than PROFILING against age. And wouldn't a job teach a minor responsibility and economics?

I just need money so I won't have to ask my parents for money all the time when they don't have it. I think that it is unfair that we, as 15 year olds are unable to be apart of the work industry! This is one of the main reasons violence is starting at such a young age. I strongly belive that if we are able to drive the streets than we should be able to work also!

i am 14 and will be 15 in 5 months and do not think it is fair that we are not allowed to work. If we are capable and we want to work why not let us. I need money!
