According to several sources, a meeting of the International Whaling Commission called by George W. Bush appointee Bill Hogarth will take place to discuss the possibility of lifting the global moratorium on commercial whaling.

The moratorium has existed for over 20 years to protect whales from extinction, and even so, tens of thousands of whales have still been killed in this time. Without the moratorium, whales will be hunted to the brink of extinction and the international organisations that enforce conservation laws will become outlaws if this moratorium is lifted.
