Because of the tragedy that took place just a few days ago, many people have gone back to viewing the music, videos and images that they loved about Michael Jackson. One of his more popular commercials was one shown on television in 1992. It is popularly known as the 'I'll Be There' ad or the 'Young Michael and Older Michael' ad.

When I saw it again for the first time in years, I thought that it was great. I came to the conclusion that it would be honorable for Pepsi to re-air this advertisement as a tribute to Michael Jackson's expansive musical legacy, and as a memorial for his death.

When I posted a similar comment on the Youtube video of this ad, within minutes I received multiple replies from other users who agreed with me. I think many people would love to see this commercial, and possibly others from Michael Jackson and Pepsi, back on television.

Update: This is an e-mail I recently received from a representative of Pepsi

We appreciate your positive words about our truly unique and memorable commercial featuring Michael Jackson. While currently there are no plans to rebroadcast the spot, I will pass along your suggestion to our advertising team and senior management.

Thanks again for writing. Michael Jackson's music helped us define a generation and, like everyone else, we're deeply saddened by his passing.
